In our contemporary world, decolonial multimedia emerges as an opposing force and a resisting route for community and story. With real-time genocide unfolding on our screens and the pervasive influence of manipulated information, the necessity for unbiased, alternative viewpoints has never been so urgent.
Amidst uncertainty and conflict, the voices of those directly affected often remain neglected and unheard, delegated to the peripehries of mainstream narratives. Rarely do individuals find themselves behind the camera, let alone given the platform to share their own stories in their own words; to express how they see the world.
At World Over Here, we will be working alongside communities, journalists, activists, artists, and change makers to amplify storytelling unheard. In unity, we seek to bridge the gap between the headlines and lived experiences on the ground, offering a raw, unfiltered glimpse into the realities of our world.
Through our multimedia platform, we seek to spark critical thought and action, fostering a global perspective that transcends borders and biases. Every story told, every perspective shared, has the power to reshape our collective understanding and drive meaningful change, memory, and momentum for our living, changing planet.
Together, decolonial storytelling can become a continuous creation—a journey that empowers us all to make a difference and to create action and alignment with each other and the Earth. World Over Here is now officially launching our global storytelling community. We look forward to amplifying community and critical perspectives to co-create a planet that is not only diverse and enriching but also deeply interconnected and resilient. From climate breakdown to social justice, from Bhutan to Bolivia, and from our World to Yours, World Over Here is here for Humans, Earth, and Beyond.
