Hope you could all come.
Living Dead Time is the second exhibition in a series of artistic initiatives that the Museum of Contemporary Art unfolds at the former psychiatric hospital, Sct. Hans, as part of the museum's three-year exhibition program on mental health, psychiatry, and care.
In Living Dead Time the artist Danilo Correale transforms the raw spaces of the former laundry facility, the Central Store House, into a scenic office installation, a scenario of a future without work, and an in-depth study of sleep.
Correale invites us through his long term investigations to question the obsession with workaholism and the general vilification of unproductive lifestyles that is gradually structuring society.
For the time we spend in inactivity, Living Dead Time offers us tools to unlock spaces for self-care and contemplation beyond boredom and guilt. The works question the obsession with growth and productivity, and point out that embracing dead time might be our only way to create a more sustainable and caring society.
