As we come up to number 400, I had the pleasure of speaking with Jersey Joe, a US Air Force veteran and advocate with Patriots Helping Vets.
Our discussion started with Joe recounting his military service, which included critical ground support roles in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Transitioning to civilian life posed significant challenges for Joe, as he struggled with isolation and the difficulty of building new relationships.
A major focus of our conversation was the use of cannabis for medicinal purposes. Joe shared his struggles with mental health and how cannabis has provided him significant relief, prompting him to advocate for its benefits through Patriots Helping Our Veterans. Freedom Alliance for National Military Appreciation Month
Tom Kilgannon, President of Freedom Alliance and Reese Carwile come on to talk with me about National Military Appreciation Month.
Reese has been a recipient of the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund in honor of her father, Army 1LT Donald C. Carwile, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2008. She is Freedom Alliance’s 2024 Scholarship Fund Student Ambassador.
I am looking forward to talking with Tom again and learning more about Reese and the legacy of her father's service.

Joseph Hernandez,, U.S. Army Veteran has proclaimed May 17th, Kiss a Marine Day!
Kiss a Marine Day. Oscar Mike Radio guest, and author Joseph Hernandez (@comon.tdmc) told me that in his mind May 17th is always Kiss a Marine Day. This is because Marines helped his unit in Afghanistan.
Every American should do their duty to leave no Marine unkissed on this blessed day.
So it is with great enthusiasm and aplomb that I read this official proclamation.
Michelle Baxter and I are good friends. She is doing a benefit at The Boondox in Columbia, TN, on May 31st. Clayton Quisenberry and others will be there for this benefit.
I will be going full speed to get this blanket done and shipped out on time.
When I am at Yaz's Cafe and Boutique on Sunday, I will be working on this blanket. I am thinking about having a card for people to sign to go along with the blanket.
