i remember my mom used to always say a phrase to me before school — and that phrase was, “you are born to fulfill a destiny in Christ Jesus.”

i remember so many moments growing up where i felt insignificant and left out. i didn’t know how my life could make a difference in this huge world.

as i grew older, i decided that i wanted to make others feel the opposite of what i felt — and so i did what i could to make people know that Someone believed in them. I took the time to show them that they are seen, not just by me, but ultimately by God.

i think God has a sense of humor cause He has been bringing people along my path who have felt the same way I did…and maybe, just maybe my life would be the proof to them that God sees.

That thought alone fuels me and causes me to wonder — maybe this was the destiny all along…a person like me who felt unseen, Seen by a loving God, and now living to let others know that they are seen by Him too.

// on another note, davia & i ate at this beautiful place called in Batangas (super close to Tagaytay).

from homemade cheese puffs, to chipotle chicken, to pour-over coffee (roasted by the owner) to buko salad pie (WHICH IS SO GOOD 😍) everything is made straight from their kitchen which aims to source produce from local farmers. the owners are passionate foodies and such wonderful people to talk to as well!

new job.
new season with davia.
new responsibilities at church.

i feel like i’m being taught that with the new blessings God places in your life, comes a greater responsibility to steward them well too. like, how’s the condition of your heart & your attitude while you wait and build towards the things you’re still believing for?

if you aren’t able to steward what you currently have properly, how can you expect for more to be added to you? and if ever the chance comes that more is added to you, it just might crush you if you receive it prematurely 🫢

your ability to steward what’s in your hand creates the space for more to be added into your life 🌱

this is for the person who’s been searching for validation…

that person might be you.

you might be so consumed by your talent and skill (or lack of it) and how people don’t see you enough. or compliment you enough. or say they’re proud of you enough. i get it, sometimes it really is tough and sometimes all we’re looking for is someone to notice us. but the tough reality is that it doesn’t always happen *surprise lol* though i’m quite sure you know this already by now.

solely relying on other people to give you the validation your soul longs for is a path that many have taken - and have been left feeling utterly unsatisfied.

could the words you long to hear be from the One who made you?

He’s got so much to say. maybe we just need to take more time to listen.

a year ago we were just dreaming of the possibility of seeing each other. a year later, with a lot of faith & determination, that dream came to be.

despite all the odds and challenges of living across the world from each other (which is hard enough) + the uncertainty of the pandemic…WE MADE IT!

idc if it’s cheesy, i’m so so so so thankful to God for knowing you and now being able to dream of a future together with you.

LIFE IS EXCITING. GOD HAS THE BEST DAYS AHEAD OF US STILL.

kinda lengthy, but just some thoughts for every person that claims to follow Jesus - this reminder could be for you. with the heated political environment in our nation, it can be so easy to get lost in a spiral of fights - with that friend, that tita or tito, or that acquaintance from work or school.

but ask yourself, are you acting from a place of love, or are you just fighting from a place of pride…cause you want to prove to everyone else that you’re right?

here’s a question for reflection: do you put loving people above your politics? or your politics above loving people well?

may we never settle for bitterness or hatred. and yes, it isn’t easy for sure to walk in love all the time. but just imagine what future we’d create if we’d choose otherwise.

i hope that in the end we would be known by others by ultimately one thing — our love.
