Our sincere condolences to Jah Shaka's family. He has been and will be a great inspiration for us all to be better people! Much love

Many of you will already know that the great sound system operator and musician Jah Shaka has passed away. He was a great friend to us all at Dub Vendor over the years and he will be sadly missed.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and the many who knew him as a friend.

His importance to the contemporary roots reggae scene worldwide simply cannot be overstated. He was a continuing inspiration to everyone.

My brother Russ and I were among those for whom, upon first witnessing him in session in the mid-eighties, were inspired to create music in tribute. Indeed, it was the Zulu himself who named us The Disciples.

He was that rare thing, a true original and his legend will far outlive us all.

RIP Jah Shaka, a true reggae muisc icon.
