Did you get a chance to check out my latest video on #ThoughtfulThursday? No worries, here's a restream. #TuneIn Now!
This short video is about: How to Be Thankful in the Darkest Moments of Life.
Have you recently had a friend "Ghost" you? It could be for the sake of their self-care. Could it be, possibly, that you are a negative friend? Self-awareness is essential, but I won't leave you here with these questions. Let's talk about it.
2020 has brought about unexpected changes to every aspect of our lives. This video was actually filmed on Thursday, for #ThoughtfulThursday, which was Thanksgiving. Thinking back to last year, my family and I made rounds to see our family members, surrounded by love, grateful for each person in the circle. This year, our family has shrunk a bit. Still, there's much to be thankful for in life.
In this video, I briefly introduce myself and my brand. Then further go on to address how to be grateful in the darkest moments of your life.
Topics discussed:
The power of your mindset.
How to not to overload your friends with negative energy.
Monitoring your thoughts and decreasing your level of complaints.

Did you hear about this? The Crown Act passes in #KCMO. Let’s keep this trend going across the nation. I loved that #citycouncil passed this. On the day I interviewed for my job, I wore the wig in my last post. I feared my recent fade cut wouldn’t be perceived as professional or ladylike, two characteristics that actually define me. After I got my job, I showed up without my wig on my first day to set the tone, they were shocked. I didn’t tell them the reason for my frequent changes, but made light of the situation with truth. I told them my hair will be different a lot so memorize my face.
Legislation #200837, passed making #KansasCity the SECOND municipality to have enacted the #CrownAct.
"The legislation aims to address racial & hair discrimination that Black men & women experience in the workplace." #KCMO #Hair #HairDiscrimination
#Mayor @quinton_lucas held a signing ceremony for the CROWN Act.
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas applauded the unanimous passage of the CROWN Act and announced that he will sign the ordinance during a signing ceremony tomorrow. Introduced by Third District Councilwoman Melissa Robinson and Fifth District Councilwoman Ryana Parks-Shaw, and cosponsored by Mayor Lucas, this ordinance will explicitly prohibit racial hair discrimination in employment and educational opportunities throughout Kansas City.
According to the CROWN Research Study, Black women are 1.5 times more likely to be sent home from work or school and 3.4 times more likely to be perceived as unprofessional because of their hair. The CROWN Act provides legal protections so Black women and men can safely embrace natural hair textures and styles such as braids, locks, twists, and knots.
