🇷🇸 Four Serbs were killed yesterday in Kosovo and Metohija near Serbian XIV c. Banjska monastery by Albanian members of the so-called Kosovo police.

🇦🇲 Even worse situation is in Artsakh where Azeris conduct ethnic cleansing against the local Armenian population.

🙏 Pray for two Orthodox people tonight. We live in such a hard times.

🇮🇹🇩🇪 After Italy switched sides in September 1943, the Germans occupied the northern part of the country. On 22 September two German soldiers were killed and two others wounded when some boxes of abandoned munitions they were inspecting exploded. The Germans insisted it was sabotage, and the next day they rounded up 22 civilians to try to get them to name the saboteurs. The soldiers made the prisoners dig their own graves when they continued to assert their innocence. Then Salvo D'Acquisto, a 23-yr old Carabinieri member who was in charge of the local Carabinieri post, was taken to the prisoners. When it became clear that the Germans intended to kill all of them, D'Acquisto sacrificed himself and "confessed" to being solely responsible. He was executed by firing squad, but all the civilians were released unharmed. He saved 22 lives sacrificing his own.

✝️ D'Acquisto was posthumously awarded the Gold Medal of Military Valor. He was given the title Servant of God by the Catholic Church.

▶️ Not every Albanian is bad. Our people say that there are tares in every grain, but the reverse is also true.

🇷🇸 On this day in 1914, the Treaty of Niš, the Secret Treaty of Alliance between Serbs and Albanians, was signed by Nikola Pašić and Esad Paša Toptani.

🇦🇱 The contract included 15 points that provided for the joint establishment of military and political institutions, but the most important provisions were related to the military alliance, the construction of the Adriatic railway from Serbia to Drač, as well as guarantees that Serbia will support Esad Pasha in the elections for the ruler of Albania.

🙏 Esad Pasha was a great friend of Serbia, the main protector of the passage of the Serbian army in retreat through Albania during the WWI. He was a supporter of the principle "Balkans for the Balkan peoples" despite the will and support of the central powers that created Albania two years earlier. During the First World War, he supported the allies and helped Serbia with a detachment of Albanian gendarmes in the battles on the Thessaloniki front. He was killed in Paris by an Albanian terrorist, Avni Rustemi, in June 1920.

👑 Esad Pasha Toptani will forever be remembered as a friend of Serbian soldiers and the entire Serbian people. His cousin, Ahmet Zogu, who was crowned King of Albania in 1928, lived in Krunska Street in Belgrade and was the last Albanian ruler who was friend of Serbia.

🇨🇿 Tomáš Masaryk was the first president of Czechoslovakia, an acknowledged politician, philosopher, sociologist and journalist. A true friend of Serbia.

🇷🇸 Tomáš defended the rights of the Serbs — especially at the time of the illegal annexation of Bosnia and Hercegovina by Austria. Once he saved 53 Serbs from death:

🇦🇹 "It is difficult to decide whether it was an operetta, a comedy, an inquisition or a tragicomedy," Masarik described the rigged trial of a group of 53 Serbs from Croatia, known as the "Agram Trial." It all started back in March 1906, when the majority in the Croatian Parliament was won by the Croatian-Serbian coalition, the originator of Yugoslavia and the principle that Serbs and Croats are one nation. Vienna realized that it had gained an angry opponent who could take Croatia away from it, but the real reason for the process that was soon mounted lay in something else: the monarchy was preparing for the illegal annexation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, so it needed a justification for that act. The Croatian parliament was dissolved, and the Austrian government, with the support of Emperor Franz Josef, ordered the Croatian ban Pavlo Rauh to collect information about the Serbs against whom shameful proceedings would be initiated. Rauch, a known Serb hater, didn't find it difficult to fulfill the task. The plan was to declare the Serbs and Croats who advocated for a South Slavic state mercenaries of Serbia, accuse them of breaking the Habsburg monarchy and creating an alleged Greater Serbia.
The first indicted Serbs were Adam and Valerijan Pribićević, brothers of a prominent Serbian politician from Croatia, Svetozar Pribićević. The state prosecutor requested the death sentence for all those arrested, and Rauch himself stated that it is not possible to kill all the Serbs in Croatia because there were 700,000 of them, otherwise he would prefer to do so.

📢 However, the campaign didn't bear the expected fruit. It caused an avalanche of condemnation of intellectual Europe, initiated by Tomáš Masaryk. He was overwhelmed by the prosecutor's monstrous request for the death penalty, even though there was neither evidence nor valid witnesses to bring the indictment. From the parliamentary platform, he addressed the whole of Europe: he accused the puppet authorities in Croatia and presented the entire background of this case. In his closing speech, he said: "I hope that there will not be any MP, any party in this house (the Habsburg Parliament) who will vote, even indirectly, for this political and cultural disgrace, for this so-called Agram Trial."
His words were supported by 68 deputies. Due to the increasingly loud protests of the European public, the Judicial Council in Zagreb sentenced the defendants to temporary sentences, not death sentences, as was planned, but this verdict didn't last either. Emperor Francis Joseph was forced to pardon all the accused because of the "great uproar in the world".

⚽ When the EURO24 qualifiers draw was made, four groups immediately caught the eye of many: Group B, which includes two powerful national teams - France and the Netherlands, Group C, which includes the finalists of the previous EURO, England and Italy, as well as Group D in which are Armenia and Turkey, as well as group I in which are Romania and the southern Serbian province. The first two were interesting for sporting reasons, and the second two for political reasons.

🥶 Many immediately wondered how Romania, which has an extremely firm stance on not recognizing this fake state as independent, would be able to play a peaceful game against them. The malicious ones rejoiced at this outcome of the draw, saying that the Romanians would not have the courage to say anything for fear that they might be suspended. It will be difficult for them to get such a good opportunity again since Switzerland is their strongest opponent in the group, and Israel, Belarus, Andorra, and the Football Association of the aforementioned province are also there. Especially considering that the top two teams are going to qualify, every point is of great importance. Many have spoken - the Romanians will keep quiet about this. They will play and probably win, but they will keep quiet. They won't even be allowed to bring in a Serbian scarf, let alone anything else.

🇷🇴 However, as always throughout history - the Romanians have shown themselves to be brave people and extremely devoted to their Serbian neighbors. They risked their trip to the EURO, and brought in a large flag of Serbia with the inscription "KOSOVO JE SRBIJA"; they chanted the same slogan throughout most of the game. They were not afraid. They knew that friendship is more than points that UEFA can take away whenever and for whatever reason they want. Ion Antonescu could have taken the entire Banat and even Vojvodina from Serbia during WWII if he had wanted to. However, even a Romanian who was close to Hitler's forces said that he would rather cut the veins than occupy even two centimeters of Serbia (then Yugoslavia). The Romanians were just as brave last night in Bucharest. Unlike them, the Albanians once again ran away from the field, that is, the battlefield. That's the thing they're famous for. They did not want to continue the game. In the end, they had to and they lost.

🇷🇸 Romanians know who their true friend is. They appreciate the historical and religious ties between the two nations. We do that, too. In Southeast Europe, and we can say in the whole of Europe, we have no greater friends - friends who proved to be such even in the most difficult times. Then when friends are the most necessary.

🇷🇸 Patriarch Pavle of Serbia was born on this day 1914. He was one of the most beloved Orthodox patriarchs of all time. Before his death, he was the oldest living leader of an Eastern Orthodox church.
Between 500.000 and a million people attended Patriarch Pavle's funeral in Belgrade in November 2009.
