Do you believe the youth have a voice regarding today’s problems? They do if you listen. Listen and watch Akron youth and other community leaders on the importance of sharing your voice.

The Community Talk Back and Youth Summit titled “We Have A Voice Too,” provided students from 8th to 12th to share and learn in community engagement at the Shaw JCC and Lippman School. Students also learned how they can engage, learn, and volunteer with local organizations and universities.

International guests from the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) also engaged with the youth under a multi-regional project, “Not Too Young to Run, Engaging Youth in the Political Process.”

These guests are invited to the United States under the auspices of the Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program. Their program is arranged by Mississippi Consortium for International Development.

"What we wanted to do was to get as many community members in one space as possible to talk about how effectively we could change and impact our community. We have community development corporations, we have organizations that have been boots on the ground here in our neighborhoods for a while, but what we haven't always collectively captured is the Black voice in our community."
