Seek and to Save

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10

Jesus speaks these words after encountering Zacchaeus, a man overlooked, disliked, and written off by his community. Yet Jesus doesn’t wait for Zacchaeus to clean himself up or prove his worth. He seeks him out, calls him by name, and enters his home. This verse captures the very heart of Christ’s mission: He moves toward the lost, not away from them.

“Lost” doesn’t always mean rebellious or far away. Sometimes it looks like success without peace, religion without transformation, or routine without hope. The good news of Luke 19:10 is that Jesus is not passive. He actively seeks, pursues, and rescues. Salvation is not the result of our searching for God, but God searching for us.

Today, this verse invites us to both receive and reflect that mission. We receive it by remembering that none of us are beyond Christ’s reach. And we reflect it by joining Jesus in seeking others with compassion, not condemnation. The same Savior who sought Zacchaeus still seeks hearts today, yours, mine, and those we might be tempted to overlook.

I have loved for a few years now. I can get all my essential vitamins, hydrate, and get energy from just one packet a day! It’s been a key during my intense training cycles and just every day life.

I was blessed to get ahold of a new flavor “Bright Strawberry”! It packs the same delicious flavoring, not too sweet, with a bit of a creamy fun taste.

Let it Be to Me

“And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭1‬:‭38‬ ‭

Mary’s faithfulness is one of the many great stories that we remember this time of year. In the midst of unknown and the miraculous, many thoughts were likely swirling around in her mind. However, she was obedient.

Mary decided that she would take on the calling God put upon her life and trust Him in the process. May we also operate with the same trust and willingness. It’s about trusting the call, obeying the process, and watching God handle the results.

Celebrating Jesus’ coming fills us with hope. Remember that it is a privilege to be called by the One who came and gave us hope!

Which Season do you Prefer?

Fall and Spring are my faves, but I do see beauty in all seasons. I honestly prefer the winter run temps over the summer humidity. But, I don’t like all the layers I have to cake on during the winter. It’s a trade-off.

Either way, here’s to dreaming about running on the beach every day….

Worthy of the Gospel

“Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.” Philippians 1:27

Paul wrote these words from a prison cell, uncertain of his future, yet absolutely certain of his purpose. “Whatever happens…” carries weight, because life will bring uncertainty. Plans shift. Circumstances change. People disappoint. Hard seasons come. But Paul’s call is steady and unchanging: live in a way that reflects the Gospel you carry.

To walk “worthy of the gospel” doesn’t mean being perfect. It means being consistent. It means that your character doesn’t rise and fall with your circumstances. Whether life feels like victory or trial, your conduct points back to Christ.

For the believer, especially in a leadership context, this verse becomes a daily alignment check:

Am I responding in a way that magnifies Jesus?
Am I speaking with the grace I’ve been shown?
Am I standing firm when it’s easier to drift?
Am I living as if the Gospel has truly changed me?

Paul continues by urging the church to “stand firm in one spirit” and “strive together.” Worthy conduct is not a solo act, it’s a shared commitment. A united body becomes a powerful witness to a watching world.

Departed

"And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it." Ecclesiastes 12:7

The death of a spouse, child, parent, sibling, friend or anyone is a sad time. It can be even worse when we're grieving during a time of year when we hoped to be celebrating the gift of life given us by God.

But if we believe in Him, His promises, we have faith that the departed are now in a better place, by His side. As humans we will still grieve the loss, all the good times we spent together, the laughter we shared will be missed. We will have memories that sustain us until we meet once more.

Until the time of our own passing, we must hold on to the promise of God, knowing that we were blessed with the time we had together on earth, and that we will once more have the company of those we loved and who loved our Lord.

Strength in Weakness

“My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:26

There are moments in life when our strength simply runs out. Our bodies grow tired, our emotions wear thin, and even our spiritual passion can fade under the weight of stress, disappointment, or hardship. The psalmist Asaph understood this deeply. He didn’t pretend to be strong, capable, or unshaken. Instead, he openly confessed: “My flesh and my heart may fail.”

But the power of this verse is not in the admission of weakness, it’s in the declaration that follows. God Himself becomes our strength when our own strength is gone. He doesn’t ask us to muscle through life on our own. He doesn’t expect unbroken perfection or endless energy. He simply invites us to lean on Him.

When our hearts feel overwhelmed, He becomes our anchor. When our bodies are exhausted, He becomes our rest. When our confidence shakes, He becomes our steady portion, our enough, both now and forever.

To say God is our “portion” means He is the One who satisfies the deepest needs of our soul. Not success, not comfort, not circumstances, but Him. And unlike everything else in life that fades, God remains constant, unchanging, and fully faithful.

So if today you feel weary…physically, emotionally, or spiritually, take comfort in this truth: Your weakness does not disqualify you from God’s strength. It draws you to it.

Trials

“Count it all joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know the testing of your faith produces perseverance." James 1:2-4

If you really have faith in something, when trials come you must hold fast to that faith, understanding these trials will make you stronger and that faith will see the outcome hoped for.

If your faith is rooted in any worldly person, group, or thing, it's hard to stay firm. Humans and worldly things often fail to deserve the faith we place in them. But with God, that faith will produce steadfastness because He is faithful in delivering us safely through the storms. Put your faith in Him.
