If you haven't figured it out yet, let me just tell you, I'm a HUGE fan of CCM, and since you're reading this I have a hunch that you might be too. Maybe your story is similar to mine, like any kid in the 80's, I listened to Van Halen, (I'm partial to Van Hagar, can we still be friends?) U2, Michael Jackson, the Police, Prince, you know, basically anything they played on MTV. When I was exposed to
Christian rock, I was instantly hooked. I liked the idea of cool music that supported and encouraged my young faith while keeping the parental units of my back. That initial love of all things CCM led me to a BA communications at North Greenville College in Tigerville,SC. During that time I worked weekend overnights at a local Christian AC station. Trying my hand at concert promotion, I was connected with a youth show called the Sound of Light. For 3 glorious hours every Saturday night the DJ, myself, and a constantly revolving door of kids took over the station, and blasted the best Christian rock, pop, and hip-hop we could get our hands on. Fast forward 15 years, and I was the show host, broadcasting to over 250 stations across the globe. I felt like I was doing what I was created to do! Life happens and things change, that's just the nature of the world we live in. So after 15 plus years of doing radio, The show was done and I had to figure out what I was going to do next. After a few years completely separated from the CCM industry God led me to start BackSpinRadio, a podcast and blog dedicated to connecting you to the Christian hits you remember, and the artists you love. As far as family life goes, I've been blessed with an amazing wife, (Laura), and together we have 4, yes, F-O-U-R kids. Molly-Reagan is 10, and is the sweetest most compassionate kid I know. Liam (5), is a soft hearted boy, who I pray never loses his tender spirit. Our youngest son Obie, is funny and witty even at age 3! He's so gonna be a lady killer. Finley, the baby, has Daddy completely wrapped around her chubby little finger. So that's the inside scoop! Please stick around and check out some of the posts & podcasts I'm most proud of. And if it's ok I'd like to ask you to become part of our little CCM lovin' community and become a subscriber. That way we can get to know each other a little better, and I can send you all the latest classic CCM news, devotionals, podcasts, and the occasional goodie. Thanks again for dropping in, come back soon!
