Ten years ago I took this picture of Logan. I was in disbelief that he was already 18 months old. Fast forward 10 years and somehow I have an 11 year old who is the lead in a musical that is opening today. (Swipe to see him as W***y Wonka!) Where did the time go?!? I’m super proud of him though and the young man he is becoming.

Logan is going to be in his second musical and he's excited. He's playing the part of Gill from Finding Nemo. Congratulations to to casts!

We are so excited to announce our summer production Finding Nemo Jr. cast, everyone did amazing in their audition and we cant wait to start rehearsals!!!

Logan has been talking about The Super Mario Bros. Movie since he found out it was releasing. So we bought tickets to see it in 3D and surprised him with it today. He was EXCITED!!! He also loved the Movie!

And that’s a wrap!! This weekend was Logan’s performances of Matilda!! We are all exhausted and while I’m grateful for things to slow down for the last few weeks of summer, Logan is bummed it’s all over.

He LOVED being in the theater and all of the friends he made. I think he definitely has the theater bug now and is just counting down the days until he has another opportunity to do a play or musical.

While Logan was busy on the stage, I (Laura) was busy helping back stage a couple of nights. Also, Shadrach and I went to see opening night on Friday and then we went back today for the final show and took Ava. She loved watching Brother and every time she would spot him on the stage, she’d say, rather loudly, “Look, there’s brother!!”

Also there is a part where Logan has his ear pulled by Ms. Trunchbull and Ava was very worried about whether brother still had his ear. All in all, we are so glad she was able to see it and experience the musical.

We are so incredibly proud of Logan for doing this musical. All of it was a completely new experience for him and he went into it fearless and with confidence. There were moments he was questioning whether he could do it because it was hard, but he persevered and after his first performance he said it was all worth it!!

So, now we head back to reality and the slow life, for now!

You guys, as difficult as the two’s can be, I love it most of the time. This girl keeps me smiling, that’s for sure. She is at the point where she’s talking nonstop, she’s a little sweet and sour, and you never know what will come out of her mouth. Here are a few of my favorite things she said yesterday and today.

Yesterday we were outside walking and Ava stopped and goes, “There’s a snake in my boot!” I’m pretty sure she meant a rock 😂

Then today after coming back inside after a walk with Daddy and Logan, I asked her if she had fun outside. She responded with, “Yes, I took my feet for a walk!” 😂

Paging Dr Ava!!

I love seeing these sweet moments between them while I cook dinner. However, don’t let this picture fool you, there is plenty of screaming and fighting in between each calm nice moment. 😜

I thought for some crazy reason that since there was a six almost seven year age gap between my kids that I would avoid all the fighting. Boy was I wrong. 😑 More times than I can count, as soon as I walk out of the room I hear screaming and I’m constantly asking what is going on. Who is torturing who.

Anyway, here’s to mom life and cherishing the good and difficult moments with your kids!

We have officially moved into a new season with Logan and let me tell you, I have all the feels about it.

Back in April we encouraged Logan to audition for the musical Matilda that our local theater is putting on. We felt it would be something fun and new for him to try this summer. Lo and behold he got a part and a pretty big part to boot. Let’s me just tell you my momma heart was so proud of him for bravely going into the audition and doing it so well. No hesitation or fear from him at all.

So fast forward to last week and he started practices for the musical. He practices 3 days a week and I feel like we went from never being busy to being super busy!! Plus Ava doesn’t understand why Logan is gone so much. I’m pretty sure tonight while he was gone she asked me a million times where brother was. 😜 So I’m pretty safe in saying this is an adjustment for all of us.

I didn’t have that kindergarten experience with Logan. He’s always been homeschooled and we have always been very selective on who we leave him with. So the first day I left him at the theater with 85 or so people I didn’t really know was hard. I drove away with a lump in my throat. However, Logan is loving every minute of it all and is super excited for each practice and I’m learning to let go a little more each time I leave him.

So here’s to a new season of watching my 9 year old grow up a little more right before my eyes. 😩

“Mary Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow?”

Not sure why but that is what I think of every time I look at the picture of Ava from this weekend. 😜 This was taken this weekend at my parents house. Ava loves watering the flowers, and she begs to pick them too.

We had a nice quiet Memorial Day weekend and loved kicking the summer off just enjoying the warm weather. Here’s to many more days of warm sunshiny weather.

Logan had his Very First Audition last Friday 04/22/22 for the musical "Matilda". We're excited to say that he made the cast and will be playing the part of Eric. He's excited to be a part of this. Logan has been wanting a pet for a few years and we've always said no. However, for Christmas 2021, we decided that he's getting old enough to have one, plus it will help with learning responsibilities.

This video shows Logan's journey from starting to end of setting up his tank. He has a few Guppies, Red Tail Platie, Neon Tetra, Corydoras, and Mystery Snails. Hope you guys enjoy!
