Kalle Sjöstrand, co-founder of metalbands SLUG and HATEBOX, Underground Rock Club SLUG PIT and guitarist in Swedish Stoner-metallers KAROSS, got sick of the the record industry climate in SWEDEN after having watched friends and buddies, being ripped-off by profit hungry companies in the industry including so called major labels. Working days at a local Automation company and nights/weekends to set
-up a recording studio together with his band mates in order to record KAROSS 2nd full-lenghth album. Kalle asks some distributor friends if they'd be interested in helping the band with their 2nd release. One of the distributors said yes - If Kalle could get an independet or self-titled label to administrate the release. Of course it wasn't quite that simple: Working 8 hrs a day at the automation company at the same time as his wife gave birth to the couples 2nd child, and on top of that record KAROSS 2nd full length album was a hard combined task that Kalle managed to pull off. SKULLS AND FLAMES RECORDINGS was born March 2013 and the KAROSS album "TWO" was released in December 2013. Beside the record Label, Skulls And Flames also administrate a professional recording studio helping signed and un-signed acts to record demos and releases.
