Texas Representative Cody Harris (R-TX8) is an embarrassment to the state of Texas, to the United States of America and the Republican Party. Mr. Harris should never serve in an elected position again. He has violated the public trust. Texas’ overwhelming November victory was a mandate. No more Democrat committee chairs. No more letting Democrats select our speaker. I don’t know if we can win this speaker battle-but I know hundreds of us are going to Austin next week to speak truth to power. We will not back down. This is our Rubicon.

Vote Cook: Don’t let RINOs steal the Texas Speaker.

David Cook WON the Republican Caucus vote for Speaker of the Texas House this weekend. The actual vote will happen on the Texas House floor January 14, 2025. Caucus rules state that all Republicans must support whomever wins the caucus vote. There are 150 elected members in the Texas House of Representatives, 88 Republicans and 62 Democrats. Therefore, to win the January 14th Speaker vote, the candidate must have 76 votes. With an 88 Republican majority, this should be a done deal.

Instead, moderate and left-leaning Republican turncoats walked out, mad they lost, and cut a deal with Texas Democrats to take over power, and get Representative Dustin Burrows elected as Speaker. Burrows is a “Republican” who will put Democrats as chairs over powerful committees. If you wonder why Republicans would appoint Democrats to chair committees, this deal is why.
David Cook has committed to NOT appoint Democrats to chair powerful committees in the Texas House.

Grassroots Texans work too hard to get Republicans elected for our Republicans to put Democrats in power in Austin. Patriot Mobile Action stands with Representative David Cook for Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives.

All Texas Republicans should call their state representatives today and make it very clear they are expected to support the winner of the Republican Caucus for Speaker of the House, and that is Representative David Cook. Ask them to publicly endorse him now, and vote for him January 14, 2025 in Austin.
