“Being told I was nominated really impacted me. In music and I guess life in general these days it’s more rare than not to stop and appreciate what you’ve achieved, we’re so busy looking for the next thing and any analysis of what you’ve made so far, at least in my case, is done critically to find how you can improve, I.e what the holes in the work are, the negatives. Getting nominated made me for the first time, appreciate the impact the album has had, the connections it’s made and how it’s changed my life forever. It isn’t a number 1 bestseller, it’s not why I made it. What’s important is people got it and as a result, I felt less alone in this and I now feel supported to push further in whatever this is, be better and keep going. The work as I do as a producer too, being able to work with so much talent in Wales has all played a huge part so regardless of the result, this one is for the whole scene.”

The debut album has been such a long time coming for us, after we started out as in the sixth form practice rooms 8 years ago.
