The Crow 2024 non spoiler rant...

Alright so, flat out I will say I like the original with Brandon Lee a lot more. For various reasons. These are all just my opinions of course, I'll keep things vague. I feel like the original had a kind of flair and magic to it, throughout most of the movie. Brandon Lee's performance was lightning in a bottle. He was really born for that role.

The new one had these moments where it's like yeah man... they captured something. It was ultra violent. Ultra. That I liked a lot, because the original comic story and source material is dark and violent. Bill Skarsgård is great. Whatever I disliked about the film, it wasn't him.

I wasn't too big on his look initially, but after watching it, it fits and worked. The main issue for me, is in my honest opinion lil more build up than there needed to be. That's my main gripe. Many would consider it "slow". However, when it picked up cool. The action was fun.

The story was what it was... what you would expect from a Crow movie. This one was waaaaay better than any other sequel. The original trumps it for me. But that's just me. I say if you are a hardcore fan of the first film and character yes go see it. If you are a casual movie goer, it's worth a ticket but don't expect Terminator 2. It's a love story, it has a lot of build up.

A lot of people were hating on it. I'd give it a letter grade of ummmm... C+ to maybe a B. Not a trash movie at all. Not garbage like damn bro I wasted 2hrs of my life lol. No. I enjoyed it, but went in not expecting some action flick. I just took it for what it was. I didn't care for some of the casting choices... but Bill was awesome.

There are the spills on The Crow 2024. Lil bias I am sure because I like the character in general. Once again the main gripe overall was the build up. But some like that style and speed, and I do too but for certain films.

Alright so FLASH 2023 no spoilers...
Ummm... it was entertaining. Not great. Not bad. 50% good... 50% meh okay. The humor was hit and miss, but chuckled. They dropped the ball with certain points of the special effects, where it just looked weird and cheap. Rubbery, off. It made no sense either if you have a high profile movie because Michael Keaton is returning as Batman... you GOTTA show out.

The best aspect of the entire movie honestly was Keaton back as Batman. The guy did not miss a step. Re-captured that aura of the first two Batman films. He has not skipped one beat, fell right into the role again. It was sooooooo cool to see. 71yrs old, to come back and fall into the role again wow. Nostalgia to the max!
I rank it like mid range DC film wise. I expected more. Maybe some people will LOVE it. I didn't love it. I enjoyed it. Don't let that deter you from seeing it, because it was entertaining and an escape.

There were really cool fight sequences. Especially Keaton's scenes.
Easter eggs and nods that will make you drop your jaw, especially if you are of a certain age bracket. Anyway... gonna say C+ only because Keaton elevated the film. If not for him C mid range.

Listen man... listen. We are just losing legends left and right. Tina Turner passed?! Wow. Growing up an 80's baby sheesh man, she was that Woman. Her contribution to that 3rd Mad Max movie Thunderdome with the iconic song "We don't need another Hero"... legendary. This Woman contributed so much to music in general. Rose up from domestic abuse in such a tremendous way. RIP Tina Turner def part of my childhood growing up... my family loved to play her songs.

RIP Ray Stevenson... solid Punisher. The movie itself War Zone was garbage but he did the character justice. He was in a bunch of other stuff, he was great in Kill the Irishman. 58yrs old... way too young to go imo. God speed Sir.

Evil Dead Rise thoughts (No Spoilers)...

In a word... gnarly. If you are a fan of the first two films, you will appreciate and enjoy this one. It's like it's own contained story AND a sequel. Mimicked the style of the first two movies very very well. Just with updated effects. Great nods and homage moments. But it was it's own fresh thing also. It was pretty damn good for a horror film, and an Evil Dead sequel.

I'm gonna grade it for what it is as usual. This is a gory, rated R, horror flick. And also another entry in the franchise. I will give it... a B+. FOR the type of film again and what it is. This ain't Schindler's List lol. But it is a true Evil Dead film that was well done.

It looks like Tom Sizemore is out of here, unless a miracle ensues. I always liked him as an actor, very underrated. Did he have demons sure... but we all do in some form or fashion. Godspeed if it's the end sir. Appreciate many of your films and performances. HEAT comes to mind. The Relic fun horror flick also. Saving Private Ryan.
