Get your teachers involved! Libraries, students, after-school clubs! All K-12 aged kids are eligible to enter.

Cemetery Tours at the Old Idaho Penitentiary begin today! Experience a unique tour of the Idaho State Penitentiary and its rarely seen prison cemetery. Explore the final moments of incarcerated individuals and their final resting places. Discover why more than half of the cemetery is filled with “Unknown” markers (or often no markers at all) and why some names cannot be found in any prison register.
Cemetery Tour registration includes a self-guided tour of the prison the day of your visit and access to open site exhibits.
The Old Idaho Penitentiary is open extended spring break hours March 18-26, 2022 (12 pm to 7 pm daily, last admission 6 pm). Cemetery Tours at 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 5:00 and 6:00 daily. $15 admission.

How cool is this? This means we can now reserve a campsite and walk through 6 feet of snow to the City of Rocks on the same day, just like our grandparents did when they were kids!

There are some important changes coming to camping in the reserve this week! Starting this Wednesday, campsites will be reservable year-round and reservable same-day in City of Rocks. Reservations will be required to camp, no matter if it is June or December. Reservations can still be made 9-months in advance through ReserveAmerica.com. Seasonal positions start in May or June and last until August or September depending on the program. All positions pay $14/hour and seasonals have access to an employee campground with kitchen/restroom facilities.
