1. Notice what’s happening and name the sensation
2. Practice on regulating your nervous system by grounding yourself (check out my grounding and panic videos for ideas)
3. Practice progressive muscle relaxation where you tense and release each muscle slowly to reduce tension in body

Helping a friend througb panic
Here are three additional things you can try:
1. Encouraging them to take a cold shower if at home
2. Give them something extremely sour or spicy
3. Be present, don’t speak too much remind them that you are there and that they are safe
4. After the panic is over, offer comfort, food, or whatever they may need

Here are a few thing you can to to help it:
It can start with subtle signs which over time can grow until we feel it’s too overwhelming to handle
1. Become aware of the signs and wrote them down
2. Tell a few close people what to look out for. For example my family knows to ask me how I’m doing if my house seems messy or I stop answering messages
3. Create a plan to get help. Weather it’s to have a friend come over and talk to you before it gets worse or if they need to help you get food ready or clean up
4. Be patient with yourself and remind yourself that it’s normal to go through ups and downs and healing is not linear
5. Focus on one thing at a time. One goal a day max!
