Let’s talk the new Those Poor Bastards album.

I’m giving this one a special spotlight because they’re not a “scene” band and may not be on your radar.

This is a wonderful collection of a very spooky, p***y take on old timey Appalachian tunes. Catchy as all hell.

My favourite lyric is

“the earth will breathe
a sigh of relief
when our nation lies in ruins”
(Nation in Ruins)

The lyrical craft is strong throughout.
