Excitement Fills the Air as Sports Meet Kick Off!

A Day of Fun and Healthy Sportsmanship Unites Students

Intramural season has officially begun at Rizal National High School - Occidental Mindoro, and students are buzzing with anticipation as they prepare to showcase their athletic skills. The opening program took place earlier yesterday, December 7, marking the start of a thrilling series of friendly competitions that will test not only physical abilities but also promotes a sense of friendship among athletes.

The event commenced with a lively parade, where each participating team proudly carried their banners, representing different lovely teams. It was a sight to behold as students cheered and waved in support. The eagerness was perceivable in the entire campus was an exciting atmosphere.

To kick off the activities, the school's principal Sir Marlon Martinez delivered an uplifting speech, highlighting the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play. "Intramurals are not simply about winning, but about personal growth, building connections, and creating lasting memories."

Following the inspiring words, banners were raised to represent different teams namely Green Scrappers, Pink Crushers, Orange Spinners, Yellow Fighters, Red Strikers and Blue Smashers. A torch was lit symbolizing the spirit of competition. The flame passed from one athlete to another, signifying the unity among students despite their various backgrounds. Cheers roared from the crowd as the torchbearers made their way towards the cauldron, ultimately igniting it to officially declare the intramurals open.

The schedule for the upcoming matches was then announced, showcasing a variety of sports including basketball, volleyball, badminton, and many more. Every athletes of the team is eager to demonstrate their skills and strive for victory, all while promoting a healthy competitive spirit.

Beyond the athletic events, the intramurals also feature various highlights of the activities such as Search for Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2023, Unity dance (Galaw Pilipinas) and Zumba Competition. These light-hearted competitions provide an opportunity for students to loosen up and enjoy the activities together, forming new friendships and strengthening existing bonds.

Aside from the athletes, faculty members, parents, and fellow students have come out in full support, creating a sense of community that extends far beyond the playing field. The opening of intramurals serves as a reminder that unity, teamwork, and friendly competition are integral to a well-rounded educational experience.

The two-day Sports Meet 2023 at Rizal National High School pledge to be an exciting affair, encouraging a lively event and bringing the entire community together.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF MAGIC AND ADVENTURE!

IT'S A WRAP! — Enthralled with the different costumes and character portrayal, students and teachers of Rizal National High School - Occidental Mindoro paraded to showcase their love for reading, last November 28, as part of the celebration of National Reading Month.

With the theme: “Pagbasa: Pag-asa para sa Matatag na Kinabukasan", parts of the program initiated by the English Department - Rizal National High School Occidental Mindoro included the highlights of various characters from different literatures from Philippine, Afro-Asian, Anglo-Saxon, World, and 21st century.

The month-long celebration included contests like essay writing, slogan, poster making, spelling bee, declamation, oration, and extemporaneous speech.

This is in line with the endless efforts of the DepEd to stressed the immense power that lies within the simple act of reading and how urging the learners can make an impact for increased literacy.

IN PHOTOS— Student-journalists and school paper advisers from elementary and secondary schools of Rizal gathered to sharpen their pens during the onset of the two-day District Training-Workshop on Campus Journalism, November 18-19 at Rizal National High School.

The initiative was done by Ms Gina Tavares, Principal II, and District Journalism Coordinator, Ms Marlyn C. Suyat, Head Teacher V, Ms Abeth S. Bautista, RumES School Paper Adviser, together with the Technical Working Group, and was approved by Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Loida P. Adornado, and Rizal District Supervisor, Dr. Menia Q. Gamboa, in order to ignite the fire of young journalists after the wide-gap caused by the pandemic.

National Schools Press Conference-qualified speakers were invited to share their expertise in different individual categories. Namely: Ms Jomar B. Nidoy, Mr. Jomar C. Alvaro, Ms Ramie C. Mondia, Ms Abeth S. Bautista, Ms Esmeralda S. Bacungan, Ms Novelyn T. Catolico, and Ms Maria Paz P. Manila.

The two-day training-workshop will end tomorrow through the discussion about Collaborative and Desktop Publishing, Radio Broadcasting and Script Writing, and School Paper Management.
