APOKA PICTURES is a multi-national society of storytellers, artists, performers and filmmakers who employ their creative abilities, solely for the purpose of illustrating timeless principles and absolute truths - through artistic and creative storytelling: restoring the proper use of the storytelling media . It was first conceived by its visionary, Joseph Osei-Bonsu, in August 2011. However, it wa
sn't until the 18th of July, 2012 that he launched it and launched himself into it, full time. is a U.S.-based, production company, with an international assignment. It was created to solve one problem, and to meet another need. The problem of the ab(normal)use of the storytelling tool (the Arts and Entertainment Industry), and the need to return the world back from Pop Culture, to 'Proper culture'. The set of ideals, memes, fashion craze, business practices, perspectives, lifestyles and imagery (perpetrated especially by Western culture) that Pop culture represents, has done nothing but permeate the mainstream culture of the civilized world with trivial and dumbed-down ideas of self-concept, self-image, self-worth, self-actualization; and the desire to find consensual acceptance of what the majority calls 'right' or 'wrong'. This has robbed all humanity at all levels of what makes each of us unique - our authentic and innate authority. Pop Culture has turned virtually the whole world into a pleasure-seeking 'adult baby' who refuses to grow up, and become responsible for itself and for others. 'Proper culture' is our way of referring to the culture of adherence to age-old principles of life, like the Golden Rule, which teach people to assume responsibility for their unique giftings, and to use them for the benefit and protection of others. This is why this production company specializes in the anthropological and biographical/historical narratives. We specialize in the fantasy/animation, drama, action-adventure and comedy genres of storytelling, as well. Hence, think of APOKA PICTURES as a desert spring. Now think of the whole world as a thirsty, desert traveller.
