Quaid-e-Azam Day, also known as Pakistan Day, is a national holiday in Pakistan commemorating the Lahore Resolution of 1940, in which the Muslim League formally demanded the creation of an independent Muslim state in British India. The holiday is celebrated on March 23 every year, and is marked by parades, speeches, and other events throughout the country. The holiday is named after Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who is known as Quaid-e-Azam (meaning "Great Leader") in Pakistan, and was the leader of the Muslim League and the main architect of the Pakistan Movement. Jinnah is considered one of the founding fathers of Pakistan and is revered as a hero in the country.
