It's crucial that we help our children develop their own relationship with God. Here are some ways you can do it:
1. Pray Together Before Bed: Make bedtime prayer a nightly ritual. Gather as a family and take turns saying prayers. Encourage your kids to express their thoughts and feelings to God.
2. Prayer Journaling: Provide your children with journals or notebooks for prayer. They can draw pictures, write down things they're thankful for, or jot down their own prayers.
3. Prayer Beads or Bracelets: Make or purchase prayer beads or bracelets that have different colored beads representing various prayer categories. They can move through the beads while praying.
4. Nature Prayer Walks: Take family walks in nature and use this time for prayer. Encourage your kids to observe and appreciate the beauty of God's creation.
5. Thankful Jars: Place a jar on the dining table. During meals, each family member can write something they're thankful for on a slip of paper and place it in the jar. Use these slips as prompts for prayers.

Don't let your fear of lack keep you from allowing God to work in your life. When you pray, remember that ultimately He is the one in control, and He is only going to do things for our GOOD.
When you release the burden of having to make all your decisions and determine your outcome, you can actually rest in knowing that He's got you.

A lot of us want to cultivate better habits when it comes to our prayer life. Here are some ways to help with that:
1. Start small: Starting with just a few minutes each day can help establish the habit.
2. Set a Specific Time: Pick a specific time of day for prayer, such as in the morning, during naptime, or before bedtime. Consistency is key.
3. Pray with Scripture: Read a verse and then pray about its relevance to their life.
4. Use Prayer Prompts: Prayer prompts or topics can guide your prayers. These can include family members, personal growth, gratitude, and requests for strength.
These are just a few tips, but I'll be spending the whole month talking about prayer. Follow me for more! @junkdrawermom

Yall ever just feel like you wanna let your kids just figure it out? There are some days when I want to hide away and not be an adult. Unfortunately that's not my calling. I have to be the one to TEACH my kids, and to do it boldly, especially when it comes to training them in the way of the Lord.
Every now and then I get insecure about my abilities as a mother, but sharing those things with God help me to put my mind at ease and remember who I am in Him. Even though I'm not perfect, I know my acceptance is not based on my actions, but on the finished work of Christ and my acceptance of that.

We have to get this once and for all. God loves us for who we are. He wants us to bring all of us to Him. Trust me, He can handle it.

Don't let the enemy lie to you. God doesn't want us to be afraid of being rejected. He will NEVER turn us away when we run to Him.

What We Learned as Newlyweds
Hi friends! My husband Rodney and I have been married for close to 12 years, and we're talking about what we learned in our newlywed season and what we wish we knew before we got married.
This is the beginning of a series of videos about marriage. I think the newlywed season is a very interesting one, as there is a joining of two (likely) different habits, way of living, and thinking. I hope this video will help those of you who are currently engaged or newly married.

Struggling Marriage? Watch This.
In this video, Rodney and I are continuing the conversation about what we learned as newlyweds. Being a newlywed often comes with a season of struggle, because there is so much adjusting that happens. Communication was a HUGE barrier for us, and we had to learn how to work through it.
I'm glad we stuck it out and have found a way to communicate with each other that is beneficial. If you have any tips for newlyweds, leave a comment below and let's start a conversation!

Adjusting to Your New Life As Parents
Today, we're talking about how it was adjusting to life as parents! All the parents watching unite because I'm sure all of y'all know the struggle is REAL!
We waited 3 years before having kids, which I think was great for us. You're never really "ready" for kids. It's a wild ride but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Let's Talk About Sex!
In this video we're talking about the so called dirty 3 letter word, SEX! Growing up as a Christian, the general stigma is that sex is bad, when in reality, it's good-- but in the right context. The discussion about sex within the Church is grossly undermet, leaving many young men and women confused about what to expect when they get married.
It's okay, and actually healthy, to grow in your sex life with your spouse. It's just another part of your relationship that makes your marriage special. It's sacred between the two of you, so nurture and protect it!
Do you think sex should be saved for marriage? LMK in the comment section below!

Keeping God at the Center of Your Marriage
Whether you are a Christian or not, or a person of faith at all or not, every couple has something at the center of their marriage. It could be your kids, or your business, your material things, but something is always there that is keeping you together. If it's not Christ, things are liable to go sideways at any point.
Rodney and I wouldn't be where we are and have such a healthy marriage apart from our relationship with Him. Let this be an encouragement to you, that if we can do it, you can do it too.
I hope you enjoyed this extra long conversation! LMK if you want more marriage content in the future. This was fun :)

Overcoming Infidelity In Marriage
In this video, Rodney and I recount what happened early in our marriage. Both of us committed infidelity against each other. Looking back, it was a clear attack on our marriage, and it was a wake up call for the both of us.
We are both SO grateful to have friends in our lives that stopped us from making the tragic mistake of sleeping with these individuals, however, emotional infidelity is STILL infidelity.
Trust was broken, and therefore had to be rebuilt. BUT there was forgiveness, because this was a shared experience. We both were going through it at the same time. This is why it's important to talk with your spouse about how you're feeling, no matter how shameful or frustrating it may be.
If you are dealing with or have dealt with infidelity in a relationship, you are not alone. Know that it is possible to heal! #hidingisoverrated

My Kids Don't Respect Me Because of My Clothes
Let me clarify. A lot of a positive self image has to do with being confident in myself. The more days I didn't get dressed, the more I didn't do a thing to my hair, the more I didn't eat, the more I lost confidence in myself. The day my 7 year old son told me I should take better care of myself is the day I realized THEY SEE ME. Actions speak louder than words and clearly I wasn't taking actions that showed I cared about myself or even believed in myself. If I'm not respecting myself, why should they?
I've incorporated a morning routine/experiment to see if their habits change. I'm starting my day at least two hours before them so that I'm prepared for the chaos that usually ensues when they wake up in the morning. LET ME BE CLEAR: I'm not saying dress better and your kids will obey. I'm saying take value in yourself and BELIEVE that you are worth something. That confidence can only translate into being a better parent for your kids.
What do you think about this topic? Let me know in the comments!
