Former Green Party co-leader Sian Berry secured 71 per cent of the vote to secure the candidacy for Brighton Pavilion at next year's general election.
The London Assembly and Camden councillor member is replacing sitting MP Caroline Lucas as the party candidate.
Ms Lucas took the seat in 2010 and currently has a 20,000 majority. She is standing down next year to focus on campaigning for environmental issues and against climate change.
