Samay ... 23:59, an ISSN recognized literary magazine in Bengali, publishes quality works of Prose, Poetry, and Nonfiction in its biannual publications. But that is only the official part of it. the background lies here:
Once upon a time somewhere in a tiny library at Kolkata during a long and tedious table-talk on contemporary literary and socio-political issues in a rain-drenched evening, three
college-goers became frustrated at the anemic and unimaginative response of the 'cultural and motivated elite' to the questions that mattered. They decided to quit, not their creative thinking but the lackluster organization to start anew. Inexperienced and penniless they went door to door to collect creativity and spine, believing in the fact that only those who risk going too far to touch the horizons can find out the eternity of the vista. Days passed, scorn doubled and resolution grew stronger. Almost a decade later, here stands SAMAY ... 23:59. Looking back we find 7 (Seven) Editions of our literary magazine published. Several Bengali 'Adda' evenings, rises and falls, debates and discussions, positive criticism and above all the blessings of our readers have encouraged us to walk on, to write along and to sketch anew. Small it may seem, but efforts are not meant to be measured by coffee spoons. Our effort continues. Your comments are welcome!
