Greeting French Geeks! Today we are going to talk about Partitive article.

Partitive Article*****
When speaker is referring to a portion or some part of uncountable noun. Relates often with food, drink, money etc.

J'ai mange du pain ajourd hier***************
I ate bread yesterday

Achete des pommes
Buy some apples.

Remember there are also multiple forms of this article

Masculine, Feminine, Singular, Plural

"des" is plural for both masculine/feminine

"du" is for masculine

"de" is for feminine

Salut everyone, do you know that salut is a form of greeting which is being used for the people that are closest to you(such as best friends and family members). Otherwise greeting phrases such as bonjour, au revoir are used. Next time you are meeting your best friend or your neighbor, just say SALUT to them.

Are you ready?

When there are more than 1 copy of same object(things) such as as 2 books, 3 pens etc. Then le+la both becomes les.

les stylos The pens
les b***e The balls

Nous acheter les stylos
We buy the pens

Nous manger les pomme.
We eat the apples.

Greeting everyone today we will be sharing the usage of definite article la+le. Are you excited? Let's started!

La*****
La is used with singular feminine noun.

Examples are***
la carte de crédit => Credit card
la imprimante => Printer
la poste => Post office

Le*****
Le is use with masculine noun.

Example***
le arbre => Tree
le réveil => Alarm clock
le marteau => Hammer

When there are more than one copy of the same type i.e 2 tree, 3 alarm clocks 4 hammers etc. Then les is used les arbre but we will cover that in the next post.

When definite article such as le, la is followed by vowel then apostrophe is added to it. e in le and a in la is removed.

Do you know that both petit and cadet means little. Yes but the difference is their usage. Let explore the usage of both

Cadet:
When you are talking about little brother then use cadet frère.

Mon cadet frère
My little brother

J'ai deux cadet frère
I have 2 little brother

Petit:
But for saying "a little sister", petit is used
J'ai un petit soeur
I have one little sister.

How to pronounce Tous:-
*Tous is use for you in French.

Here are some rules you need to know about pronouncing tous
1- When tous is at the end then the tous is pronouce as tous,means s is pronouce in the last.

2- When tous is follow by verb then tous is always pronounce tous just like explain above.

3:When tous is follow by le, la, les then tous is pronounce as too.S remain silent.

Bonjour, Do you know that there are some consonants which produce no sound when they come at the end of a sentence. These letters are B, D, P, S, T, U and X.
Word ----------> Sound
Becoup ---------> Becou
Yeux ---------->Yeu
Souris ---------> Souri
Poulet ----------> Poule

Means last letter of the above is not pronounce i.e becoup is pronouce as becou, poulet as poule etc.

Show the ownership of something such his car, her ring. His, her My, theirs, yours etc are possessive adjectives.

Note:
Her, its, ones all have same possessive adjectives as his.
Examples:

Amir is his uncle

Liala is his/her sister

Parlez leur -----> Speak to them
Son argent----->His/his/ones money

- Masculine adjective have their plural in s, ex
un garcon agile A nimble boy
des garcons agiles Nimble boys

Adjective ending in s or x does not change in the plural masculine.
deux chiens two large dogs
les paresseux lazy boys.

C'est/est uses:-
Here are some rules for these two words in French.

Est:-
It is use when noun come before adjective.
Le infant est mignon.

C'est:-
It is use in time, locations or adjective come before noun.

Examples are:
C'est mignon infant.
C'est un stylo.
C'est intelligent proffesseur.

Last word of the French sentence is not pronounce if it ends with consonant. For example:- Interesant(Interest) will be pronounce as interesan. This work for most French sentences. The only way to pronounce the last word if it came before e Intersante(feminine) is pronounce as intersant.

When é is use in beginning most of the time it means s sound or s in English For example:-école=School étudaint=Student étudie=Study etc

Rule No: 1
When mentioning any attribute to female(person), then use e in the last with adjective

For example
