I always said I would make at least 13 issues of The Quilliad. And having reached issue 13, for both medical and financial reasons, it's time to call it quits...for now.

The Quilliad Press, however, isn't done! We intend to come up with new, more sustainable projects in the future, so watch our blog (thequilliad.wordpress.com) and our Instagram (instagram.com/the_quilliad) for news!

Last year, we took a hiatus from publishing. This year, we are gearing up for our thirteenth issue. We have a pile of writing submissions on our hands already, but we have NO ART. 😱

Help us fix this by sending us your spooky, macabre, weird, speculative, fantastical visual art and photography by September 30! Open to all artists who are citizens OR residents of Canada.

The Quilliad is officially open for submissions from Canadian writers and artists!

We’re looking for work that engages with the weird; that includes magic realism, literary science fiction, apocalyptic stories and poetry, retold/re-imagined fairy tales/folklore/myths, horror, and other spooky, speculative, dark, and macabre work. Send us your poems (up to 5), flash fiction (up to 5 pieces), short fiction (up to 2,500 words preferably), short comics (1-3 pages), visual art, and photography. Writing should be in .doc or .docx format.

We are particularly interested in writing and art by POC, disabled writers/artists, q***r writers and artists, and neurodivergent writers and artists.
