Parkett: A Large Library and a Small Museum of Contemporary Art

Parkett collaborates directly with compelling artists from around the world. To date some 100 books with over 260 in-depth artists’ portraits have been published, each featuring three to four texts, and a total of some 1,500 essays by renowned authors. Each artist also creates a limited edition especially for Parkett, which may take

any form, from prints, objects and installations to unique works of art. Since 1984 over 260 works from artists in more than forty countries have joined Parkett, making the thirty year project both a large library and a small museum of contemporary art. Parkett exhibitions have been presented by museums on three continents including MoMA/NY, Centre Pompidou/Paris, UCCA/Beijing, and others. Parkett is published twice per year in English and German by its eponymous publishing house in Zurich with an additional editorial office in New York.

Parkett: A Time Capsule, Archive, Library & small Museum of Contemporary Art.

Parkett collaborated directly with compelling artists from around the world. In total 101 books with over 270 in-depth artists’ portraits have been published, each featuring three to four texts, and a total of some 1,800 essays by renowned authors. Each artist also created a limited edition especially for Parkett, which took any form, from prints, objects and installations to unique works of art.
