Завдяки нашим партнерам вдалося організувати шоукейси та резиденції для саундартист_ок вдома та за кордоном. Так ми продовжуємо промотувати українські проєкти та посилювати зв'язки з іншими фестивалями й організаціями.

Музичні події відбудуться в Таллінні (Morita Vargas, Cucina Povera) та Амстердамі (Nicola Ratti, Nikolaienko), резиденції — в Лісабоні (Sara Persico, George Babanski, Rui Soares Costa) та Гетеборзі (Iryna Novikova, Kajsa Magnarsson, Jenny Johansson).

Шоукейси Конструкції можна буде побачити також в Києві та Дніпрі. На Книжковий Арсенал виступить Мар’яна Клочко, Світлана Няньо та Сергій Хотячук. А в Dnipro Center for Contemporary Culture на вас чекає концерт Мар’яни Садовської.

Події Конструкції організовані у співпраці з фестивалями Saund і Mägede Hääl, містом Таллінном, Естонським культурним фондом, Книжковим Арсеналом, Центром сучасної культури у Дніпрі, Kino Sõprus, Põhjala, Ellington, Rui Soares Costa Studio, Cultural Geographies, 3:e Våningen, Muscut і Murmur. May and June 2024 — events of Constructin Festival in Ukraine, Estonia, Portugal, Sweden, and the Netherlands.

Thanks to our partners, we managed to organize showcases and art residencies for sound artists at home and abroad. This is how we continue to promote Ukrainian projects and strengthen ties with other festivals and organizations.

Musical events will take place in Tallinn (Morita Vargas, Cucina Povera) and Amsterdam (Nicola Ratti, Nikolaienko), art residencies in Lisbon (Sara Persico, George Babanski, Rui Soares Costa) and Gothenburg (Iryna Novikova, Kajsa Magnarsson, Jenny Johansson).

Construction showcases can also be seen in Kyiv and Dnipro. Maryana Klochko, Svitlana Nianio and Sergii Khotiachuk will perform at Book Arsenal. And at the DCCC you will see a concert by Mariana Sadovska.

The showcases and residencies are organized by the Construction Festival in cooperation with the festivals Saund and Mägede Hääl, the city of Tallinn, the Estonian Cultural Endowment, Book Arsenal, Dnipro Center for Contemporary Culture, Kino Sõprus, Põhjala, Ellington, Rui Soares Costa Studio, Cultural Geographies, 3:e Våningen, Muscut and Murmur. Funded by the European platform for innovative music and audiovisual art SHAPE+, co-financed by the Creative Europe program.

Released: Hennadii Boichenko - Sea Songs 7”

Boomkat Product Review:
An unexpected left turn from the reliable Muscut label, Hennadii Boichenko’s ‘Sea Songs’ is a direct-to-tape set of tongue-in-cheek hauntological psychedelia that wouldn’t sound out of place on Finders Keepers or Trunk.

Part of the Indirect band, Odesa-based Boichenko bottles a warm, warbling pastoral mood on ‘Sea Songs’, using the natural flutter of tape to lend his chirpy compositions the charm you’d expect from a long-lost Lowlands library recording. There’s not much in the way of avant drone here, Boichenko makes wobbly jazz sleaze on ‘Entracte’ with help from horn player Mike levtushenko. And the title track sounds like a past life Stereolab, with fuzzy analog synths and loose-limbed funk basslines helping drive the clatter of saturated drums and end-of-the-pier fanfares.

Cukor Bila Smerť (Ukrainian: Цукор — біла смерть, IPA: [ˈt͡sukɔr ˈbʲiɫɐ smɛrtʲ]; lit. Sugar — White Death) was a Ukrainian rock band formed in Kyiv, Ukraine. The band was active from 1988, until its dissolution in 1993. It was one of the first bands that initiated the creation of the ethno-gothic scene in Ukraine. Considered to be one of the most prominent music bands of Ukrainian underground.

The main figure of this project was Svitlana Nianio. After graduating from music school with a degree in piano, she began composing music. At first, she played with cellist Tamila Mazur. Sugar - White Death was formed when they were joined by guitarist Jevhen Taran and pianist Oleksandr Kochanovskyj.[3] The band significantly differed from the music of that time by high female vocals, non-sensical lyrics, and, previously unknown, instrumental-gothic performance. Hennadii Boichenko - Sea Songs
Format: 7” vinyl, hand-stamped

This is the 3rd appearance of Odesa-based Hennadii Boichenko (ex-Indirect) on Muscut, after his contribution as a part of the Indirect band (Ab Pharmacy / Waltz - 2014, Ode To The Sea - 2016 with Nikolaienko). 7” single, “Sea Songs,” - is a record mixed and tape mastered by Dmytro Nikolaienko. This is also the first episode of a newly started series of analog production chain releases with master reel tape transfer to lathe cut (the label has only been sending digital master files to the record plant before that). This year, Muscut twists from electronic music to instrumental and eclectic ones with more similar releases in the queue - Cukor Bila Smert’s recordings from 1990-1993, Nikolaienko’s “Meta” (exploration of metallophone on tape loopings), Fleischesmarkt’s - disbanded Odesan punk/kraut band from the late 2000s.
