Homespun Charlotte I find small businesses I love in a 90-minute or so radius of Charlotte, and I write about them! Pretty simple, huh?

The name Homespun comes from the city's rich past of textile manufacturing, and relates it back to the "homespun" businesses that make Charlotte and the rest of the area t

he great place it is today. Although they're usually much smaller, I see towns taken over by national or multi-national chain corporations and my heart breaks. A small business is a direct reflection of the passion of its owner or owners; these owners are our neighbors, and I would say that we owe it to our neighbors to support them. It connects us, restores our sense of community, and in general spreads a beautiful feeling of love and closeness among the city's people. Small businesses are the lifeblood of a city or town. Let's make sure that Charlotte stays alive and vibrant!
