Cosplay (short for Costume Play) is a subculture of geek society which revels in crafting and wearing costumes. The costumes portrayed are inspired from a variety of art forms such as anime, video games, movies, and other sources. We have all seen the costumes designed by professionals whose lives are dedicated to creating such works of wonder. It is to showcase the work and dedication of people w
hose passions, not professions, are creating renditions of those costumes. People who create and display their works at conventions. Conventions are the reason why cosplayers make their costumes. This way they can share their love for a character or a franchise with everyone. From the most local con to the largest multi-genre convention, a wide range of people come. Some for the cosplay experience, others to re-aquaint with friends that live too far away to meet with under other circumstances. Through it all, we are nerds. Once derogatory, now embraced, nerd is a catch all term labeling anyone who has embraced their passion and wears it on their sleeves. Those of us who enjoy learning about something and enjoying it thoroughly in a day to day fashion. This magazine is for us. Our centerpiece is the cosplay aspect of our society. We'd like to welcome everyone to join in and have fun, nerd and non-nerd alike. Editor in Chief/ Owner-Robert "Ratman" Van Tuinen [email protected]
