Juvenile Bothrops bilineata smaragdina found in the secondary forest. This venomous species can be abundant in certain places, but generaly, due to the alteration of the forest by human activities, they can be challenging to find .

I was laying down on the mud at a safe distance from the Caribbean flamingo reproductive colony. A crèche of chicks started to approach my position oblivious to my presence . These crèches are always guarded by adults, they surrounded the chicks and gently herded them back to the colony.

Me encontraba acostado en el lodo a una buena distancia de la colonia reproductiva del flamenco del Caribe cuando un grupo de pollos de flamenco empezó a acercarse a mi, totalmente ajenos a mi presencia. Los pollos sin embargo siempre están resguardados por adultos nodriza los cuales en este caso, rodearon al grupo de pollos y sutilmente los acarrearon de regreso a la colonia.
