Delapna:we - Grab the family and some popcorn to catch the one night encore premiere of the 2020 Delapna:we Project by Ho'n A:wan Productions! Our one night premiere starts on December 23 at 6:45 pm.

Please remember that these stories and tradition are significant to our Zuni culture with strict protocols. Winter time is the designated time for delapna:we and we ask that during this premiere you do not record or share beyond this showing. We also ask our families to explore questions around how to create more opportunities for story sharing and speaking our Zuni language. The Ho'n A:wan Productions collective consists of ShiwiSun Productions, A:shiwi A:wan Museum and Heritage Center, Edaakie Arts, and Zuni Youth Enrichment Project. We, as the organizations, are committed to fostering the strengths and talents of our incredible Zuni youth. Connecting them to our culture is a key component in our programming. If these efforts are also practiced at home, our youth will grow into the strong and culturally rooted individuals they are destined to be. Elahkwa for this opportunity! Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

Ho'n A:wan Productions Delapna:we Project, now in its fifth year, brings community members of all ages together to share precious Zuni stories through the performing arts.

Local father Willard Sanchez remembers when the project began in late 2018. “I auditioned for a grandparent part. I didn’t know what to expect, but I was eager to meet the challenge.” And he’s not the only member of the Sanchez family to be on board. Two of his five daughters, 11-year-old Mariah and 9-year-old Deanna, also have been involved as performers since the early days.

“Being with them, I’m on cloud nine,” Willard says. “It’s such a positive atmosphere, and I love seeing them show what they can do.

ZYEP’s goal is to raise $25,000 by December 31st for this winter’s Delapna:we Project. We have already secured $13,000 and have $12,000 to go. Would you consider making a gift today to make this project possible for more families? Click here to donate: https://donate.stripe.com/8wMbLc5Gj31X4EMcMM
