During the week of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, several Independent editors were reporting with Pacifica Network, a broadcasting station for Grassroots radio, turning in daily audio clips and scripts for nightly broadcasts.
Several of the topics covered were the impact the DNC had on Chicago, with several protests throughout the week and different events within the two locations of the DNC (United Center and McCormick Place).

Other editors were on location reporting for our newspaper, including a Chisme and Politics panel that featured two NEIU alumni (Jesse Fuentes and Delia Ramirez), as well as interviews with people during protests,

Shoutout to Leslie Lozada, Editor in Chief, Dan Maurer, News Editor and Zachariah Simmons, Opinions Editor who worked on this project. Managing Editor Jasmine Rodriguez and Production Manager Ryland Roberts were on location during the week with their own coverage.

Check out the following link here for our radio coverage and upcoming DNC articles https://neiuindependent.org/dnc-2024/
