: In honor of we are reflecting on the achievements of the LGBTQ+ sports community and the progress being made on the path to equality. Athlete activism has always been a pillar of women’s sports as seen with advocates like WSF President Meghan Duggan, WSF Past President Phaidra Knight, and of course our Founder, Billie Jean King, who blazed a trail for many to follow, just to name a few. Athletes continue to lift up the sports world by using their voices and platforms to advocate for equality, inclusion, and visibility of the LGBTQ+ community. We applaud these women for taking a stand and paving the way for future generations.

Your Turn:
1. Learn about the barriers that still exist for LGBTQ+ youth in sports in our research report, ‘50 Years of Title IX: We’re Not Done Yet’ available on our website.
2. Check out Athlete Ally for resources and content around the LGBTQ+ community in sports.
3. Find out what your favorite college or university athletic department policies are to support LGBTQ+ student-athletes, coaches, administrators, staff, and fans.
