Family Is Not An Important Thing, It Is Everything- Hon. Amaka Obi Says As She Host International Day For Families.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata), earlier yesterday hosted International day for families in the council secretariat, Ojoto.

In her welcome address, Hon. Amaka Obi said that, family is not an Important thing but it is everything, urging the parents to continue living in peace, harmony and respect for each other.

Earlier in her introductory speech, the Head of Department of Education and Social Development, Mrs Chukwudozie Ebele said, the programme is first of its kind in Idemili south local government area to celebrate families. She presented couples from the communities to the Transition Committee Chairman, Hon. Amaka Obi.

In her remarks, Mrs Mary Eruchalu JP(Ada Ife) said, empowering families through education, changing consumption habits, and advocacy is critical for meaningful and effective climate action. Gifts was presented to the following couples;

Mr & Mrs Elias Okpalaeze from Awka-Etiti won the best couple, they have been married for 54 years, calling themselves honey all these years.

Mr. & Mrs,Chinenye Anyadiegwu from Oba took the second position.

Mr. & Mrs Isaac Hyacinth from Akwu-Ukwu took the 3rd position.

Mr. & Mrs Joseph Obuzie from Ojoto.

Mr. & Mrs Richard Ezenwa from Nnobi.

Hightlight of the event was presentation of gifts to the couples.

Vote of Appreciation was given by Nulge Chairman, Mr. Innocent Edozieuno who commended Hon. Amaka Obi for giving parents such opportunity to learn more, adding that, she is doing marvelously well.

Hon. Amaka Obi Lauds Chief Ufudo As Igwe Nick Obi Commissioned Solar Powered Water Project And 700 Meters Road Executed By Chief Ufudo.

The Traditional ruler of Nnobi, His Royal Highness Igwe Engr. Nick Obi(Igwe Omenyili), on Sunday 12 May, 2024, commissioned a portable solar powered water borehole and 700 meters road executed by High Chief Obinna Ufudo(Ochendo Nnobi) at Ifite Ogbeadiji community, Nnobi.

Chief Obinna Ufudo is the founder of Ufudo Foundation.

Hon. Amaka Obi appreciated Chief Obinna Ufudo for his thoughtfulness and successful completion of these projects, saying, it is inline with Governor Charles Soludo's vision to reinstate water supply to reduce the burden of the people and they would go a long way in improving the sanity and hygiene in the community.

Hon. Obi added that water is life and a basic need, stating that it will address the gaps and challenges the people in the community face in accessing safe and clean water.

International Nurses Day: Idemili South Council Boss, Hon. Amaka Obi Appreciates Idemili, Anambra Nurses.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata) eulogised the sacrifices and commitment of Nurses, especially Idemili south and Anambra State nurses towards the well-being of the citizens as they mark World Nurses Day.

Hon. Obi said, nurses deserves commendation always, stating that, the council area will remain greatful to nurses and their other colleagues for their contributions and sacrifices.

"On this day, I want to join millions of our citizens to say happy International Nurses Day to all nurses around the world, particularly Idemili South council area nurses.

"I appreciate our nurses, and I thank them for their commitment. I want to assure them of our continuous support".

Hon. Obi said, the theme of this year's World Nurses Day, which is Our Nurses, Our Future, The Economic Power Of Care, saying that, despite being the backbone of our healthcare, nurses often faces societal undervaluation.

Idemili South Council Boss, Hon. Amaka Obi Warns Against Indiscriminate Dumping Of Refuse.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata) has warned the residents of the council area against Indiscriminate dumping of refuse in drainages to prevent perennial flooding.

Hon. Obi gave the warning in an interview with her media team on Wednesday in the council secretariat.

She said, the warning is to caution residents who had cultivated the habit of dumping refuse in the drainage and canals meant to allow free flow of water to prevent flooding.

Hon. Obi appealed to car wash business owners and land developers to ensure that waste water was always channeled into the drainages, while unused sand should be placed appropriately to avoid obstructing the roads and canals.

She reiterated her commitment to the progress of the council area and the people through empowerment programme.

Hon. Amaka Obi Attends The Funeral Service In Honour Of Ifeanyi Ezeigwe's Mother, Late Mrs Victoria Ezeigwe.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata), has attended the burial of Ifeanyi Ezeigwe's mother, late Mrs. Victoria Ezeigwe at Amesi in Aguata local government area, Anambra State.

Late Mrs Victoria Ezeigwe was mother of National Publicity Secretary of Soludo Support group(SSG), Mr Ifeanyi Ezeigwe.

Hon. Obi while praying for repose of her soul, urged Ifeanyi and the entire family of the deceased to be comforted by the legacies she left behind. She also consoled Amesi community, adding that, her death was a huge loss to the people.

The burial was also attended by Anambra Chief of Staff, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief Protocol, Chief Sir Chinedu Nwoye(Glamour), Comrade Obi Ochije Modilim Ozo Awka, South East APGA women leader, Hon. Mrs Ngozi Obidike and many others.

WIGA Attends The Burial Ceremony Of Captain R.D.C. Obiegbu.

The Women Initiatives For Greater Anambra(WIGA), led by the convener who doubled as the Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata), alongside former Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Hon. Uchenna Okafor earlier yesterday attended the burial ceremony of late Captain R.D.C. Obiegbu at Umuru village, Ogidi in idemili north local government area, Anambra State.

Late Captain R.D.C. Obiegbu was the father of Oyi coordinator of WIGA, Mrs Blessing Edozie.

Speaking during the condolence visit, Hon. Amaka Obi urged those he left behind especially Mrs Blessing Edozie not to grieve endlessly like those that were hopeless, who had no Christ.

She said that the deceased was an upright man and would be remembered for his uprightness, dedication, honesty and integrity.

Hon. Obi urged Mrs Blessing and entire family to take solace from the legacies he left behind and prayed for repose of his soul.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata), yesterday in company of the LGA party chairman, Chief Kizito Anoliefo, youth leader of Nnokwa, Comrade Ifeanyi Eriobu, transition committee members, Nnokwa Ward party executive and APGA faithful, condoled with APGA stakeholder, Mr Nnaemeka Ojukwu and councilor Nominee of Nnokwa ward, Mrs Amara Precious Ike as the remains of their late father, Apostle Innocent Onwukwe Ojukwu was laid to mother earth .

Hon. Mrs Obi remarked that, their visit was as a result of Nnaemeka Ojukwu's contribution to the growth of APGA in Nnokwa ward, APGA Idemili South, Idemili South Local Government Area and Anambra State at large.

She noted that, having all his businesses domicile in idemili south underscores his belief in Anambra State and encouraged him to sustain the steadfastness.

The Idemili South APGA Chairman, Hon. Kizito Anoliefo on his part testified that, late Onwukwe lived a good life and charged his children to sustain the good legacies of their father.

He added that, it is natural for children to bury their parents especially when they are older and prayed God to grant the soul the deceased eternal repose and comfort the deceased family.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata) has commended Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo for his inspired economic growth and outstanding performances in the state.

Hon. Obi appreciated Governor Soludo for human capital development, especially youths and market women, stating that human building is the most priority of any government and will boost the economy of the state.

Iyom Ife-Abata said, Governor Soludo's silent achievements with exemplary inclusion of young people has placed the state on a stable path of sustainable growth and development.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata) has appreciated council area workers for their immense contribution to the economic development of Idemili South.

Speaking on the theme of 2024 International Workers Day, which is *Safety And Health At Work In A Changing Climate* , she said that, climate change has affected us in different ways and ofcourse, has more impact on daily workers.

Hon. Obi in her congratulatory message stressed the importance of civil servants and workers in actualisation of government promises, plans, programmes and projects especially at the grassroots of the local government and council development areas.

Iyom Ife-Abata enjoined staffs to be proactive in the discharge of their duties and responsibilities. The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata), has said, Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo is a leader with midas touch ordained by God to lead ndi Anambra in this dispensation.

She made this statement during the event Anaocha Unite For Soludo organized by the Transition Committee Chairman of Anaocha local government area, Hon. Ikechukwu Gerald Ozoh (Mmiri Aniocha) which was aimed at building a formidable force for Governor Soludo.

Speaking during the event, Hon. Obi who was accompanied by councillors said, Governor Soludo has made positive changes through human capital development programs, policies and activities, which have shown in social infrastructural, healthcare development, youth-based focus programs, women empowerment, among others that have put the State ahead of others in the country.

She said that, Governor Soludo is the only option that can genuinely guarantee continuity of prosperity for Ndi Anambra.

Continuing, Iyom Ife-Abata said that, Anambra has never had it so good until Governor Soludo whom she christened miracle governor came on board with unquantifiable goodwill for the people of the state.

She added that, Charley Nwamgbafor has proven his mettle as Godsend to stand in the gap for the people of Anambra in this era like Moses did for the Israelites when they departed Egypt for the Promised Land.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata), has attended the burial of late Mr. Nnaetoo Dominic Onyemaobi.

Late Mr Nnaetoo Dominic Onyemaobi, who passed on at the age of 45 years was brother of the Transition Committee Chairman of Dunukofia Local Government Area, Hon. Nonyelum Onyemaobi(Ancestors).

While commiserating with Hon. Onyemaobi and the entire family, Hon. Amaka Obi said that, death is Inevitable, stating that, the death of Mr. Nnaetoo Onyemaobi is very painful and a huge loss to the family and the community.

She added that, the deceased was a gentleman who lived a good, purposeful and fruitful life, worthy of emulation.

Hon. Obi urged Onyemaobi family to be comforted by the legacy he left behind and prayed for repose of his soul.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata), alongside Deputy TC Chairman, Hon. Smart Ebuka and Secretary of Idemili South local government, Hon. Evaristus Ofido paid glowing tribute to late Mrs Christiana Okafor.

Late Mrs Chinweokwu Christiana Okafor was mother inlaw of member representing Anaocha 11 in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Ejike Okechukwu(Ogbuefinukoefi).

While commiserating with Ogbuefinukoefi and Okafor family, Hon. Amaka Obi described death as inevitable, stating that, late Christiana was an icon, and a very loving woman, who impacted many lives.

She added that, the deceased had made her own mark here on earth and urged Hon. Ejike Okechukwu and Okafor family to be consoled by the legacies she left behind. She also prayed for God's mercy upon Late Mrs Christiana Okafor.

Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata), alongside Head of Local Government, Mr. Kelvin Anazodo, Idemili South HPM, Mrs Orie, Secretary of the local government, Hon. Evaristus Ofido and councillors of the council area attended the burial ceremony of late Lolo Georgina Egbosi at Nnobi in Idemili South Local Government Area, Anambra State.

Late Lolo Georgina Egbosi was mother of Chief Sir Cyprian Egbosi and mother inlaw of Dr. Lady Ifeoma Egbosi.

Consoling the deceased family, Hon. Obi said, we are proud of the life Lolo Georgina lived, saying that, her service as a mother is reflected in the character and life of her children including her daughter inlaw.

She added that, the enduring legacy of kindness, discipline, exemplary family values, godliness, and uprightness left by Lolo Georgina will be fondly remembered by many.

While praying for repose of her soul, Hon. Obi urged Chief Cyprian, Dr. Ifeoma and the entire Egbosi family to take solace in the legacy left by their beloved mother.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata), has lauded Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo for the massive projects going on in the State.

She made this statement earlier yesterday at Obosi in Idemili North as Anambra APGA Chairman, Chief Sir Ifeatu Obi-Okoye received defectors from oppositions, stating that, the giant feats Governor Soludo's administration has recorded in infrastructural development, education, Health, Environment and many others are the reason people are joining APGA.

Earlier on, the Chief Host of the event, Hon. Commissioner for Works, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma applauded the defectors for taking the bold step, adding that Governor Charles Soludo is doing marvellously well.

In his separate remarks, the State Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA), Chief Sir Ifeatu Obi-Okoye welcomed the defectors and promised equal treatment in the party.

Stakeholders Engagement: Kingboy, Darleva Iheanyichukwu Assures Hon. Amaka Obi Of Partnership.

The National Secretary of Soludo Solution who doubled as co-convener of the group, Mrs Darleva wife of Mr. Kingboy Iheanyichukwu has assured the Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi ( Iyom Ife Abata) of partnership with her administration.

She said this when they paid a courtesy visit to her office at the council headquarters, Ojoto.

Speaking further, Mrs Darleva said because of the high rate of poverty and the role women play in the family and society at large, that she would want to partner with the administration of the council boss by training and empowering women in various skills.

Welcoming the couples, Hon Amaka Obi said Public Community Private Partnership is one of Mr. governor's agenda, noting that government cannot do it alone. That with the support of stakeholders in empowering women idemili South LGA, it will have a new face lift.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata), alongside councillors in the council area and Dr. Nkem Okeke paid courtesy visit to the youngest Permanent Secretary to Office of the State Secretary to State Government, Hon. Dr. Nwabufo Nwankwo at his office in Awka.

Speaking during the visitation, Hon. Amaka Obi on behalf of Idemili south councillors congratulated him for his well-deserved promotion, stating that, Dr. Nwabufo has paid his dues. She said, Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo is always rewarding hard work.

Hon. Amaka Obi pledged unalloyed support to Dr. Nwankwo, noting that reward of good work is more works. She prayed for more strength and wisdom upon him so that he will achieve more progress in his new job.

Stakeholders Engagement: Hon. Amaka Obi Visits Chief Chiedozie Okoye, Seeks For Partnership To Bring More Development In Idemili South.

In a bid to bring more development to Idemili south local government area, the Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata), visited one of the council stakeholder, Chief Chiedozie Epi Okoye(Akunaedozi Obi) at his office in Abuja.

Speaking during the visitation, Hon. Obi lauded Chief Okoye for his support towards the progress of the council area and seek for partnership to take Idemili South to greater height. She said, we need to collaborate more in the ex*****on of projects, stating that government will not do it alone.

Hon. Obi added that, government is committed to develop the council area and therefore, they are collaborating with major stakeholders to ensure that more development projects and programmes were carried out in the council area.

Responding, Chief Okoye commended Hon. Amaka Obi for her effort to the development of Idemili South and pledged unalloyed support for the betterment of the people.

Former Labour Party Member, Comrade Ifeanyi Anakuba Pays Courtesy Visit To Hon. Amaka Obi.

The former Labour party member on Thursday paid courtesy visit to the Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata) at the council secretariat, Ojoto.

Comrade Ifeanyi Anakuba was formerly defected to the governing All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA).

Comrade Anakuba had recently resigned as member of opposition LP for what he described as personal reasons.

Speaking during his visitation, Comrade Anakuba applauded Hon. Amaka Obi for her commitment towards the development of Idemili South. He expressed delight that his defection to APGA offered him another opportunity to contribute more to the development of Idemili South and Anambra State.

He said, his main interest in politics is for the development of Idemili South and Anambra State, stating that he found it expedient to team with Hon. Amaka Obi and Anambra State Government to take the council area and the State to greater heights.

He added that, Governor Charles Soludo's achievements in all sectors are physical on ground for all to see, and even the blind feels the impact of the people focused governor. From educational development to road construction, establishment of industries, poverty alienation programmes, youths and women empowerment, adding that Charly Nwamgbafor has proved beyond any reasonable doubt that, his mission in politics is to make life abundance for all.

He assured his total commitment to the ideals of the party and indeed the progress of APGA led government in Idemili South and Anambra State.

Responding, Hon. Amaka Obi and Idemili South Local Government APGA Chairman, Chief Kizito Anoliefo appreciated Comrade Ifeanyi Anakuba for taking the bold step, stating that the development of Idemili South and Anambra State is our collective responsibility.

Hon. Obi described the honour bestowed on Hon. Muobike as a recognition of his values and contributions, eulogizing him as a great asset for the community.

She added that, the recognition echoes the enormous values placed in the person of Hon. Muobike, stating that, it underscores Hon.
