Does anyone have suggestions for US shops or distros that might be interested in carrying some recent black metal and death metal LP titles? DRQR has a few new ones on the way and we're looking to get these in some new listeners hands and ears. Wholesale rates available! Also our cassette tape inventory is dwindling so give that a look over before it's too late. Probably going to be downsizing some distro stock over the next few months so keep an eye out for some tape and LP lots. #2023

Please consider picking up an LP copy of the new album "PREVAIL" by North African Black Metal act . Atmospheric Black/Doom from Tunisia. Kind of crazy to we that we only pressed 100 copies and some are still available from DRQR, and . At the very least please stream it on YouTube (free) and give us some feedback. We understand that they are a little pricey for a single LP but when the quantity is low, the price per unit is high.

Not that many of you will give a rats ass but in 2025 DRQR is calling it quits. Distro and collection/trades will continue but our label output will discontinue. We started this little label in 2015 and are very proud of every release and how far we've come. It's not lost on me how hard every artist has worked to make each release come to life and physical format. It's been a labor of love with every amount of peak and valley that you can imagine.

We've got about 10 or so projects planned over the next 2 years and we sincerely hope you'll take the time to check out each release. Even if you don't pick up a copy, knowing that folks listened and gave it a chance means everything to me and the bands. Big thanks to each and every person/band that we worked with, label we traded or co-released with and special thanks to everyone that every picked up one of our releases over the years.

To all the other small labels out there: KEEP FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT. Putting out records and getting folks to purchase or even give a listen can be a real challenge. We've known that all along but in the last few years it's been harder than ever for us to move inventory. Even if no one seems grateful for what you do, it's absolutely worth it and we encourage you to please carry on doing what you're doing!

Next 2 LP releases have been submitted and payed for. Both are co-releases with some great diy labels. The 2 releases after that will be submitted next month and a couple months later. You may not know this but the MANIPULATOR / MULCIBER / $TENCH PRICE split is Dead Red Queen Record's 60th release!! A lot has happened in these last 8 years. What started as a short-run tape and mini-CD label in 2015 has over time graduated to a mostly vinyl output here in 2023. There may only be a couple more years left for us in this record making game and these are the types of releases we will continue to immortalize and forever represent. We appreciate everyone that's been a part of our journey.

*NEW RELEASE / NEW BANDS ANNOUNCEMENT*
Dead Red Queen Records is forever humbled and proud to present our next 12" vinyl as a 3-way split by the unrelenting and unforgiving death/grinders, (NY) / (OH) / (EU/AS).

The "Suffer And Continue Split" was originally only going to be a MANIPULATOR cassingle tape if you can believe that! Even had some sweet mockups and all. But a 5 minute tape would have been a grave injustice to the attention and respect their part deserves and we knew there was more to it once we began talks of hard copies. MANIPULATOR hasn't done a split. Records are pretty much what people want most, especially 12" format. Why not link up the homies? DRQR had already been in contact with STENCH PRICE regarding their first vinyl and thought they would be an ideal candidate for a split. Both bands have a sort of parallel blend of strangeness and seriousness. And something was telling us to further raise the stakes AND WE SURE DID. There's roughly 22 minutes runtime per LP side. With the material we wanted to use that was just enough for space for one more band. Little did we know that MULCIBER would soon after jump on board for their first vinyl release too. The perfect storm!

Brace yourself people, this wild hodgepodge medley of blast beats, breakdowns and Latin Samba(?!?!) is sure to leave you reeling in shock haha. Any part of this split could have easily been it's own tape, 7" or 10" release but we thought it best to compile a single-sided 12" and allow for the bands to highlight each other's work. When you listen you'll know exactly why this split compilation deserved to be preserved on vinyl. From MANIPULATOR (1) to MULCIBER (2-4) to STENCH PRICE (5-6), the album listen is pummeling and bewildering to some extent but each band brilliantly compliments the next. There's a certain intensity carried throughout and no shortage of blasts or brutality.

Happy Sunday!! DRQR has an upcoming pre-order announcement on May 6th. It's a big, mean 3-way Death/Grind split LP! Records are complete and in-hand. PO will last a few weeks and everything begins to ship on May 26th. This release has been in the works for the better part of 2 years so we hope you'll take a moment to check it out. 200 copies were split between 3 bands and 4 labels. DRQR will have about 25 copies available in the label shop.

"Tunisian atmospheric black metallers finally graduate into full length territory with the release of ‘Prevail’. This sees their vision of sparse, understated atmospheric music expand into a stilted, doom laden affair of low key menace punctuated by monstrosity and chaos. The picture is not a tranquil one. Cohesion is not built until track three ‘The High Throne’. The opening suite of this album is an unsettling conveyor belt of frustrated momentum, patient yet strained atmospheric builds, and guttural vocal crooning. ‘The High Throne’ picks up the tempo with a mid-paced blast of dissonant black metal, but retains the same strained background atmosphere of drab, grey glumness.

‘Prevail’ is essentially a dark ambient album that uses black metal as an aesthetic vehicle to extend its emotive reach more than it is a metal album. The entire picture is framed by swelling waves of sonic volume that convey a lurking sense of emptiness, wilderness. This is a barren backdrop onto which Ayyur paint an awkward, stilted array of dissonance, droning chords, and loose black metal riffs. The drums contain the promise of solidity and motion, but always find themselves dropping the tempo just as sustained motion becomes the norm. Leaving the guitars to desperately forage for coherence where none can be found..."

After a trio of EPs in recent years the Tunisian blackened doom metal band AYYUR is returning with a debut album named "Prevail." It will be released in April by an international group of labels -- Xenoglossy Productions, Hidden Rooms Recordings, Dead Red Queen Records, and Armée De La Mort Records -- and today we premiere its first advance track (check the comment link below). Howdy people! How's everyone doing on this fine Saturday evening? We're doing alright for the most part. We wanted to tip everyone off to some DRQR works coming down the pipeline. A lot planned for 2023 and 2024! Some new bands, some familiar names, multiple pressing plants, maybe a reissue or two and eventually some more merch. Hope you're looking forward to it too.

In roughly 2 months our next 12" LP release will be in hand and for sale. The order was placed May 2022 and Test Press approved late 2022. This 3-way split is a total ass-beater, just wait. Color vinyl copies will be split between 3 bands and 4 labels. More on that VERY soon. Get stoked!

Follow-up LP release should arrive in 3-4 months. Order was placed mid 2022 and TP recently arrived. This is a second full-length album of mean MFin Deathgrind act. Color vinyl copies will be split with the band and 4 labels. Lots more coming with this one, be ready.

Release after that has been ordered and TP set to arrive some months from now. This in a new full-length of terribly dense and brooding Black Metal from across the pond. Very limited pressing here, copies will be split with the band and 3 labels. Because this was such a short run the production cost and price per unit will have a slight increase. Lest it's an import, double sided and color vinyl. Set to arrive late 2023.

And then there's still 5 more 12" LP releases in planning!! A ton going on so please stick with us on this journey because we need you!! As always I want to thank the artists for their trust and commitment with everything we do.

When we started the label in 2015 never did we think we'd get to a year where there's 8 separate vinyl projects being juggled. Just bonkers! We're here for it. Goal was to always see to it that music we stand behind makes it onto a physical format. Hate the idea of brilliant music being lost to hard drives and interwebs. Started with Tapes, mini-CDs and CDs. Feels like we've finally grown up into a RECORD label now that we're dishing out all this sweet vinyl. "Atlas Maior’s “Hadal” provides listeners with a revealing glimpse at Atlas Maior’s new 2023 album by the same name (to be released on Friday 2/17/23). The title track “Hadal” is a brooding, yet demonstrative offering inspired by the Hadal Zone, the deepest and darkest ocean trench on earth. The name Hadal is Atlas Maior’s metaphor for post-pandemic artistic perseverance within a rapidly changing global context.

Hadal is a diverse instrumental album that pivots between driving energy and moody introspection embodying the evolution of Atlas Maior from it's inception into the full ensemble it has become. The album offers the 1st collection of compositions written by Josh Peters & Joshua Thomson informed by the Arab maqamat modal system, Ghanaian Highlife, Brazilian samba and gulf rhythms from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates can be heard on songs "Basalt" & "Hadal". The band's versatility within jazz experimental contexts can be witnessed within free flowing improvised compositions "Ignis Fatuus" & "Fata Morgana"."

"It is with great pleasure that I am able to announce the release of the debut full length by This is the Last Time, called Acclimation. This project was a direct result of COVID lockdowns and digital collaboration across state lines. Through this project, my approach to writing, recording, collaboration and output changed drastically for the better.
Spending the initial COVID lockdowns in a small apartment in NYC, hearing literally non-stop ambulance sirens for months straight, despite not a single soul on the streets, a sense of escape was necessary. I set out to write an album that felt like you were having a nice walk on a summer day, but with….blast beats. I was joined by a handful of the most talented musicians I know, and over the course of the following year, we collaborated remotely on this album
An incredible thank you to my main writing partner and guitarist Tim Bradley and low-end supplier Tyler Spatz. An enormous thank you to our additional collaborators on this album, from the incredibly lush additional guitar accompaniments supplied by Steve Henninsgard to the wildly bizarre and intricate drum parts were written by Taylor Hamel. The great Adam Tucker was given the un-enviable task of smashing all of our different parts together into a cohesive project.

Hey people, been a minute. Smol update: We recently approved some LP test presses for an upcoming release in the fall. 2 other LP orders were also submitted this month and those are expected to arrive in January. Been a slow year for the label but who cares hah.

If you check the website you'll see that we have close to 20 releases available. While that's way too many to still have I will say that they're all in very low quantities, most around 3-8 copies. Takes up roughly 3 shelves on a bookcase so no biggie. That being said, any label/distro owners wanna work out some trades let me know! Not a single title is slated for repress so get them while they're here!

DRQR might make a small effort to distro some shows as we approach this 2nd half of the year. It's a little difficult to do bc I work 5 nights a week but I'm still down to make something happen. If that's of any interest to you DTX peeps, hmu.
