I think we all need a mass dandelion break now and then. And aside from the occasional catharsis, that's what I try to do with my channel.
Even when things are serious in the games, I try to keep them down to a level of video game seriousness. Comic book seriousness.
I'll show Batman being brutal - or even morally ambiguous, whether the writers meant him to or not - all day long. BroForce blowing things up, like we did for July 4, is also fine.
Things like Lisa the Painful, however, or continuing with Mafia III, are right out.
And as aforementioned, on rare occasion I do something completely cathartic, which last July 4's stream also was.
But on the whole, my YouTube channel is about escapism. Helping people finding a refuge - be it dark, bright, quiet, loud, or just plain silly - from the maelstrom.
If I can make you smile, then mission accomplished. And if I can help you laugh, then we've both made the world a little better.
This coming Sunday, we're going back to the Lands Between. I will continue to role-play as Godrick, aka Godrick the Golden, aka Godrick the Severed.
Because, frankly, I just really love playing this game... and for me, it's all about the story. If the game doesn't have a story, I'll probably invent one. And I think Goddy is an interesting character, and it's been fun watching him develop.
(Also, don't call him Goddy to his face. He's a little tetchy about that kind of thing.)
I also have Story Thyme, of course, which is me reading poetry and short prose. And Coyote Learns is where it all started, so many moons ago... with my first trying to learn these silly games, aided by Izzy the Fool.
But right now, most of our energy is fixated upon Coyote Streams, and getting the Nite Owl stream up and running. And we'll continue doing things because they're fun, so hopefully you can have fun with us.
So if you like what we're doing, please subscribe and do bell things so you can see more. And if you want to fund our silliness, consider becoming a patron or dropping us a Ko-Fi; links are there with the channel and every video.
Because if we can ever make a living doing this, we'll be able to do it more and better.
But at the end of the day, my greatest hope is to just help everyone smile and/or laugh, and set aside the madness that besets them on a daily basis for just a little bit.
And then, refreshed, we can all carry on swimming however upstream we're swimming that day, giving each other respite and dandelion breaks whenever we can.
Sometime again!
