PROTECT AND DEFEND THE INTEREST OF THE PDP AT ALL TIMES - Senator Bob

The Political Leader of Uyo Senatorial District, Senator Effiong Bob, has called on elected Ward officials of the PDP to protect and defend the interest of the party at all times.
He said that they have to reciprocate the trust and confidence reposed in them by working in the best interest of the PDP at all times. This, according to him, include working hard to bring party faithful together and act in a way that will attract new members new to the party.
Senator Bob who was speaking during the PDP Ward Congress in Ubium North Ward Three added that they have to be loyal to the PDP and be ready to implement all party directives to the letter.
He used the occasion to introduce two new members of the party in the Ward in the persons of Professor Utibeabasi Stephen and his Dr (Engr) Bliss U. Stephen.
While conducting the election to the Ward offices, the returning officer for the Ward, Hon. Ukpong Michael Ukpong, charged party members to be orderly as election was going to be conducted into all Ward offices of the party.
In his acceptance speech, the Ward Chairman elect, Hon (Deacon) Itoro Etukudo, thanked the party for the trust and confidence reposed in him and his team and pledged to be loyal to the party and live up to the dictates of the PDP in the Ward.
Also elected at the Ward Congress were Lydia Anthony Ononyo, Deputy Chairman, Ime Ufot Ibiok, Secretary, Samuel Samuel Udo, Assistant Secretary, Ukara Akpandem Essien, Publicity Secretary and Unyime Lazarus, Organizing Secretary.
Others included Enobong Udoedem Etuk, Women Leader, Uwem Sunday, Financial Secretary, Ime Okon Ukpong, Treasurer, Saviour Nse Peter, Youth Leader, Joe Unaowo Etukudo, Legal Adviser and Ubong Effiong Nelson, Auditor.
Five ex-officio members were also elected. They were Alice Uko Sam, Ex-officio 1, Mfon Aniefiok Ukpe, Ex-officio 2, Monday Monday Udofia, Ex-officio 3, Ekpedeme Ime Ibok, Ex-officio 4 and Gregory Samuel Etukudo, Ex-officio 5.
The Congress also elected three adhoc delegates in the persons of Mr Nsikan Johnny, Apostle (Mrs) Alice Pius Adam and Engr. Idongesit Phillip.

On the directives and approval of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Party today was declared for ward congress, a day for party members to elect their leaders at the ward level who will pilot the affairs of this great party.

The Grace to see all of the people again in good health. He also made glowing remarks in great appreciation to the Leader of the Party in Akwa Ibom State His Excellency Governor Umo Eno for his unrelenting efforts to unite the party since he took over as the Chief Executive.
Ekpo who is a former Chairman of Council reiterated his love and commitment towards all of the party members reassuring them of a free and transparent exercise through the conduct of elections for ward executive members.
Returning officers as led by Comrade Kanny Okoko in the witness of INEC official took over the election process from accreditation of voters with party membership cards which due process was followed and commencement of voting for positions by an acceptable A4 format with head counts of credible votes for each of the offices contested in the election.
At the end of this beautiful exercise the returning officers announced Polycarp Umoh winner of the ward Chairmanship Position with three hundred and five votes (305) recorded in his favour with (17) executive members who all went unopposed and all returned elected.
In his acceptance speech Comrade Polycarp Umoh returned Glory to Almighty God for his benevolence, grace to be among the living to see a day like this and the fair weather which made the events a memorable outing.
Speaking further he thanked Governor Umo Eno for leading the party with love and dignity, also appreciated Leaders and Stakeholders for their cooperation and support for accepting him to lead the party in this dispensation while promising to remain focused, loyal, trust worthy and very dedicated to all party affairs.

Mr. Jephath Tom, emerged the chairman, in his reaction, thanked the leaders and members of the party for trusting him with the responsibility of leading the ward.
He particularly thanked Governor Eno for making out time to also file behind him to ensure his success in the exercise and promised to ensure absolute loyalty by placing the party interest above other interest in the exercise of his duties.
The leader of the party in Akwa Ibom State, governor Eno commended the members of the PDP across the state for maintaining decorum and ensuring smooth and successful conduct of the ward congress, while charging the newly elected officers to live up to expectations in line with the confidence reposed on them by their fellow party men.
"From the report we have received across the state, Congress went well and all the party guidelines and principles were observed. We have our party representatives from Abuja, independent observers, INEC is around. So all the requirements were met. It's been a very peaceful congress and we trust God that's how it will continue", the Governor affirmed.
He described the exercise as the beginning of building a new structure for the party and cautioned the executives and members against any diabolic oath of allegiance to any particular person, other than the oath of office to serve the party.
"now we have started the process of setting up a brand new structure for the party and we please request that all our team and all our people that are elected will do their work and be loyal to the party. Don't go and take oath from anybody. The only oath is your swearing-in to the office today. What the party directs let everyone do that. The party is supreme. What the party wants is what will happen, not your personal opinion."
At Ikot Inyang Eti Primary School, Ndiya Ward 1, Mr. Ubong Asudor, emerged Ward Chairman in a transparent and orderly process,
In their speeches, the newly-elected ward chairman as well as all the party executives at the ward level, in one voice, affirmed their commitment in supporting the party and giving their best to the progress of the party.
The ward leader, Capt Iniobong Ekong who is the commissioner for lands and other stakeholders in the ward were present to witness the process.
He advised the newly elected ward Exco to carry the party's image at all times and avoid such character that will bring down the image of the party.
Capt Ekong, sued for love, togetherness and unity in order for the PDP to remain strong. He commended the peaceful conduct of the ward congress and attributes same to the peaceful nature of the governor who doubles as the leader of the party in the state.
Similarly, Ndiya Ward 2
Imoh Atauyo Akpan, emerged the Ward Chairman, while Etido Ime Ikpeinyang was elected Ward Secretary and Alice Effiong Sunday Vice Chairman among others. In his response, the Ward Chairman thanked the leaders and all stakeholders for finding him fit to lead Ndiya Ward 2. He appreciates the Commissioner for Lands, Capt Iniobong Ekong, for his examplarly leadership qualities and promised he will not disappoint his Ward. Other stakeholders also congratulate them and advise against such an attitude that will tarnish the party's image.
At African Primary School, Ikot Eyo, Ubium North Ward 1, Anietie Job emerges PDP Ward Chairman, with the Secretary; Dr. Udoma Attat, as presented by the returning officer, Hon. Obot Akwa was witnessed by the Political Leader who doubles as the Chief Protocol to governor, Hon. Otobong Edemidiong amongst other stakeholders.
Hon. Edemidiong urged all ward executives to be steadfast and uphold the principles of the party for the continuous success of PDP in Ubium North Ward 1 and Nsit Ubium at Large.
The congress was transparent and successful.
The People's Democratic Party (PDP) Ward Congress in Ubium South Ward 3, was marked by success, non-violence, and transparency. the Chairmanship hopeful for Nsit Ubium, Mr. Alfred Charles, witness the process.
Mr. Alfred Charles expressed his gratitude to God for the peaceful conduct of the congress and was excited about the peaceful process. He appreciates Governor Umo Eno, for the peace he maintains in the state and also advised the newly elected executive to work diligently and protect the interests of the party.
The Ward Chairman, Elder Sunday Harry, extended his thanks to the political leader, Hon. Etim Arthur, for ensuring the smooth and successful ex*****on of the process. In his address, Elder Harry said that it was the first time in the history of Ubium South 3 to produce a chairmanship candidate, expressing his pride in being able to witness such a milestone during his tenure as Ward Chair.
Congratulations were in order for all the newly elected ward executives, including Mr. Samuel Friday. Special appreciation was also directed towards Hon. Etim Arthur for his outstanding role in the process.
Prominent attendees at the congress included Elder Joe Akpan, Mr. Joshua Etukudo and Miss Eno John Joshua, who were also inaugurated as 3 ad hoc delegates. Pastor Uwemedimo Ekpo member Congress committee Hon, Ikopbo Friday, Hon, Willie, Hon, John and many others.
The PDP elders from Ubium South 3 were thankful for their support and acceptance of the new executives into the PDP family.
