Home Little Home is the small-living lifestyle blog and online magazine by me (Meredith!), devoted to small spaces and making the most out of tiny homes through inspirational design, craft and DIY projects as well as interior decoration tips and tricks. Since taking my first step on the property ladder (with the lovely bf) in 2014, I have wanted to log the changes of this (tiny) flat into a warm a
nd cosy home. This blog is designed to track my progress with DIY – the trials and tribulations I encounter with saws, hammers, wallpaper and finding enough storage space for a hefty collection of shoes…
We looked for months when house hunting. And realised after trawling through property after property that our expectations where unrealistic. The grandiose entrance to the building was certainly misleading when we first set eyes on the flat, but it was love at first sight. Now, a few months into the transformation of what was a dated and cramped flat, we’re getting used to the adjustments of living in a very small home. And we’re not the only ones jumping feet first into a smaller square footage. Across America, small living is quickly becoming a trend in family lifestyles. The tiny house movement is starting to grow here as well, and for me, tiny living has gone from an interest, to a passion and a way of life. At Home Little Home my aim is to change the way people think about the space they live in and aim to develop the creative attitude needed to readjust our mindset about the space we call home. In this blog I’ll take you on my own journey of living in a small space, and will show you creative ideas to make the most out of every space available to you. Each week on the blog I’ll be writing about my experiences in this new style of living, from DIY disasters to storage solutions. Features in the online magazine will include showing off other small homes and spaces and demonstrating how their owners have made them bigger and better through creative rejigging. And… to make the most out of creative living and decorating for small spaces, a key part of the small lifestyle is about using what you have to the best of its ability. Whether you need inspiration for creative storage, are keen to checkout tips and tricks for innovative upcycling or fancy some fun craft projects, I’ll be working away in the HLH studio to bring you new and exciting projects that will inspire you to turn your small space into a Home Little Home.
