Lifestyle magazine based in Dumfries and Galloway sold from Scotland's most southerly point across to Dumfries. First launched in Spring 2015, the magazine is established as a firm favourite covering the fantastic people, enterprising businesses and dedicated local organisations that make up this wonderful part of Scotland. The magazine is devised, designed and printed in South West Scotland.

Tonight is supposed to be the second night in a row with fantastic views of the Northern Lights across the skies of Wigtownshire.

If you have any pictures of last night's, or take pics of the Northern Lights tonight, then please send them in asap via emailing [email protected], and we'll look to publish as many fantastic photographs as possible in this week's edition of the Stranraer & Wigtownshire Free Press.

Next Saturday, come along to see the Whithorn roundhouse, the traditional skills project and Mostly Ghostly Tours - and the tearoom will be open for tea and cake if you've been busy visiting buildings!

Tomorrow's FREE storytelling event at The Whithorn Trust

This week is a feast of storytelling : we are delighted to have expert storyteller, Anne Errington, who has grown up with Scottish tales and stories from around the world : she will be with us for two sessions on Wednesday at 4pm and 7pm. These are suitable for adults and children. The event will go ahead in the roundhouse if it's showery!

Another new publication by top children's book publisher Foggie Toddle Books

We're very excited to announce that Wheesht! by Susi Briggs and Will Gorman Art is now available to pre order. The book will be officially launched at Oor Wee Podcast wi Susi Briggs an Alan McClure's event at Big DoG on the 2nd April in Dumfries. BUT you can now pre-order your copy from the Foggie Toddle Books website and it will be posted out at the end of the month. The dog who inspired the illustrations is a rescue who was thought to have little chance of survival when she was found. She responded to treatment and was rescued by the Scruffy Dog Rescue and now has a new home with a lovely Dumfries family. We will be donating a £1 for every copy pre ordered through the website to the Scruffy Dog Rescue as a thank you for letting us feature Charity (that's the dog) in our book.
