Our next speaker at the Magick, Art & Medicine Conference 2024 needs little introduction, so we give you Dr Robert Anderson Plimer...
Born in Edinburgh, Bob's degrees and postgraduate studies include Classics, Philosophy of Mind, Metaphysics, and Ancient History. Bob has taught Classics, Ancient History, Archaeology, Ancient Languages, Philosophy and Religious Studies. As a speaker, Bob has lectured at most occult conferences and has spent over 40 years studying and traveling whilst developing his ever-growing magical credentials. For over 15 years, Bob and Elaine have run monthly lectures at the Phoenix Club on the Isle of Wight where discussion has focused on Occult subjects including - Egyptian skrying techniques, Classical Magick, Hermeticism, Neoplatonism, the Grimoire tradition, Esoteric symbolism, and astrosophy, ancient and modern Alchemical theoria et praxis along with the individuals who have inspired the promotion of the Magical Revival. Bob’s Publications include a Four Volume series on Hermetic Philosophy; Spagyrics in Decoding Alchemy; Mineral Alchemy and skrying in The Alchemical World of Edward Kelley - Theatrum Astronomiae Terrestris; and The Philosopher’s Net – At the Still Point of the Turning World. His best-selling Night of Pan is a commentary on Crowley’s Book of Lies and the Thoth Tarot. Bob’s most recent works include a trilogy based on the hieroglyphs and iconography from the Middle Egyptian and late Demotic texts on the magical techniques involving skrying: Vol.1 The Flesh of Re; Vol.2 The Chamber of Darkness; and Vol.3 The Limbs of the Duat. Bob has over the years also contributed articles to several well-known esoteric journals and is at present completing his latest project based on an in-depth philosophical and magical interpretation of the Mithraic tradition. Bob’s talk at the Conference will focus on an exploration between that of light and dark utilising the so-called Ophidian Current.

We are delighted to introduce you to our next speaker at the Magick, Art & Medicine Conference 2024 - the inimitable Michael Staley. Michael has been interested in the occult all his life. In the late 1960s, he immersed himself in the work of Aleister Crowley, and then in the early 1970s, he became particularly interested in the work of Kenneth Grant. In 1986 he founded the magazine - Starfire, and then in the late 1990s, became Kenneth Grant’s publisher. Since Grant's death in 2011, Michael has concentrated on restoring the Typhonian Trilogies to print and is now planning the availability of previously unpublished materials. Michael has also been fascinated by Austin Osman Spare and since the mid-1990s, has developed a particular interest in Spare's pastel works. Michael is at present working towards the publication of some of Spare’s sketchbooks of the 1950s. Michael’s lecture Synthesis: Magic & Art in Spare, will focus on Spare’s artwork which displays an extraordinary diversity of styles. At the core of Spare’s work is a mystical vision, the articulation of which was developed over many years through a variety of styles that culminated in several pastels of 1954 and 1955.

Our next speaker at the Magick, Art & Medicine Conference 2024 is the very talented Sef Salem - Founder of the Star Club. Sef is an occultist and practicing Sorcerer with over twenty years experience of in both personal and group magical praxis. Sef initially trained as a Gnostic Mystic, joined Ordo Templi Orientis in 2009, and shortly afterward founded the international group Gentlemen 4 Jupiter. Many will know Sef for organizing and running the Occult Conference in Glastonbury between 2014 and 2018. During this time he would develop the Star Club Framework with magical colleagues and speakers at the Conference. By 2019, Sef was ready to run the first Star Club Cycle with Dr. Halo Quin. Halo was invited to bring her unique perspective on Witchcraft, Druidry, and Ecstatic Magic to the course which would serve to balance the 8 praxeis taught and performed during a Cycle. Although Sef’s passion is in that of Magical practice, he is also a skilled teacher and continues to offer monthly open rituals in Bristol and the South West of England. The Star Club is both an all-year online learning course as well as an in-person group, whose teachings are opened at the Autumn Equinox of each year. At this year’s Isle of Wight conference, Sef will be discussing the theoretical basis and magical application behind the Neuro-Gnostic Model from which he will share some illustrative rituals and some of the life-changing results from the Star Club Cycles both past and present.

Our next speaker who will be educating and entertaining you at the Magick, Art & Medicine Conference 2024 is the wonderful and well-known Welsh magical practitioner and Welsh Occult Conference organiser - Sian Sibley. Sian's topic is - ‘Magic and Medicine as a Movable Feast’. Sian is the leader of DragonOak Coven, one of the oldest running covens in Wales, Sian herself has over 30 years of practical magical experience. She is an animist and practising witch with a passion for magic, astrology, alchemy, and more especially working with plant spirits. Sian is the author of Unveiling the Green, a book highlighting her magical work with plant spirits and the subsequent disconnect with nature. In this talk, Sian will introduce the magical properties of what she terms our ‘green friends’ and their use not only in medical astrology but also in exploring the special relationship with ‘teacher plants’. Sean will be introducing delegates to the ‘Voudon Kingdom’ which is an eclectic Magical system based on traditional aspects of Voodoo. Sean's talk will explore the Black Snake Cult, which is home to an eclectic magickal system whose adepts become psychonauts of more than the traditional aspects of voodoo. Adepts are no longer simply priests and priestesses of the Barons and other Loa, but advance to embrace the magical imagination and the role of the houngan and mambo as artists of the invisible.
TAU SEAN WOODWARD XVI° is an English occultist, writer, artist, and musician with over three and a half decades of dedicated magickal experience and creative expression. He is the British Grand Master of Ordo Templi Orientis Antiqua & La Couleuvre Noire (Black Snake Cult) with jurisdictions that include Malaysia, Australia, and India. He is a gnostic bishop consecrated by Michael Bertiaux and raised to 97° Rite Antien et Primitif de Memphis-Misraim. He is also a Magus (Sar) of the Byzantine Rose-Croix as recognised by Tau Palamas. He is also a member of the Zarathustra Lodge, Chicago, and the Wahrheit Lodge, Societe des Zobops.

Our next speaker at the Magick, Art & Medicine Conference 2024 is the well-known author, publisher, and practitioner - the amazing Caroline Wise. Caroline's talk will be on the Earth Goddess Arising. Caroline organised the first big goddess conferences in London through the 1990s for the Fellowship of Isis. In the late 1980s, she initiated the re-publication of the works of occultist Kenneth Grant and has contributed to several books on goddesses, along with women magical pioneers, such as Florence Farr whose magical plays Caroline produced in 1993. Caroline compiled the book Finding Elen which focussed on forgotten goddesses associated with deer; and with John Matthews - 'The Secret Lore of London'. She also ran the Wildwood Conferences through the 1990s looking at the intersections between modern paganism and folklore, she now leads and teaches women to become oracular priestesses. Caroline has given talks and practical days on all the above in the UK, USA, Germany, and Italy. She firmly believes that magic is within us all and that we can express ourselves magically through art, no matter what our skill technique level.

Paul is a well-known folklorist who has written and lectured extensively on the lore about rats & ghosts, tongue twisters, folk horror, and cannibalism at sea. Introducing the amazing Sarah Janes, whose lecture at the Magick, Art & Medicine Conference 2024 will be on - 'Divine Dreams'.
Sarah Janes is an author, researcher, curator, retreat and workshop facilitator and public speaker. She specialises in the ancient history and culture of dreaming and has been an enthusiastic lucid dreamer since childhood. Sarah is passionate about the potential of dreaming for physical, emotional and spiritual development, not just for individuals, but for communities, society and culture. Sarah is co-director and curator of Dream Palace Athens, a symposium and deep-dreaming residency project in Greece. She is the host of the online lecture series Explorers Egyptology and is collaborating with Rupert Sheldrake and the British Pilgrimage Trust to reinvigorate the practice of dream incubation at sacred sites around the UK. Sarah also leads retreats to the ancient dream incubation sanctuaries of the Mediterranean and is currently based between Hastings, UK and Archaea Epidavros in the Peloponnese.
