Behind the Scenes: Here is DP Logan Schneider shooting our collage in tabletop. Director Rebecca Halpern used collage to showcase the mountains of archival materials amassed during production.

“Schneider studied film at Montana State University, made his mark as a DP with the Drunk History comedy series, then shifted focus to shoot documentaries about big personalities, including Chicago chef Charlie Trotter and rapper Tupac Shakur.”

Thank you DocWeek and the town of Middleburg for honoring Love, Charlie with a magnificent celebration of everything Charlie: 15 year old Miles’ playlist, Jason’s warm welcome table, Annie’s thoughtful introduction, Tom’s over the top hospitality and Chef Neal Wavra and his mom (who introduced him to Trotter’s and came to help out on his birthday last night!)

It was great to meet this incredible community at this gem of a fest!!!

Love, Charlie is DocWeek’s Closing Night Event and SOLD OUT! Trotter Alum, Chef Neal Wavra, will be preparing this amazing menu inspired by Charlie’s Kitchen Sessions book.

Chef’s approach is guided by Charlie’s philosophy of never making the same dish twice, putting vegetables first and strong relationships with local farmers.

Saturday, June 3rd 1:00 pm

FACETS and The Trotter Project are partnering to present a special screening of Love, Charlie to benefit both organization’s scholarship funds.

This special screening will be followed by a Q&A with Rebecca Halpern (director) + cast: Lisa Ehrlich and Anne Trotter concluding with a Wine & Dessert Reception.

The team is uniquely together on this day as they prepare to attend the James Beard Media Awards in support of the film’s nomination for Best Documentary.

Proceeds support The Trotter Project’s scholarships and community-based programs that feed dreams and build futures and FACETS' John A. Bross Student Scholarship Fund.

Tickets are $25 at Facets web-site (link above)

We loved hearing how you emulated Charlie by wearing a replication of his eyeglasses and that another friend emulated Emeril by his cooking style and another friend emulated Norman by wearing a blue kerchief around his neck!
