Jacinta Tobin is a proud Darug woman of mixed race from the Boorooberongal and Cannemegal (warmuli) freshwater clans. Jacinta has over 25 years worked with her local and international communities as well as government. Jacinta received her Master’s in Social Ecology in 1999 and sees herself as an Darug Musical Educator. Currently she is writing her PhD “Nura barayagai Song belonging to Country” at University of Sydney. Jacinta believes when we speak or sing in language, we are massaging Country and feels that there is an old science of knowledge that needs re-awaking for her Songlines in Country. Jacinta has worked on many collaborations and has received many awards. She is currently a member of Blue Mountains Planetary Health Initiative to help to improve the health of her Country and the World.
