Some fresh plums off my tree and yes they are all ready. Still have a whole bunch more to pick. This isn't only off 1 and a half branches. I will be making plum jam or jelly in the future so a bunch of plums will be frozen for that. Next month I will be air layering some of the empty branches. I want some trees from this. These are absolutely delicious. Don't ask what kind of plum tree this is. I don't know. This was suppose to be a replacement peach tree for a tree I had that died. This will be the biggest crop of plums I've gotten off this tree ever. Storm or birds or bugs usually empty it. I will also be air layering some other plants that I want more of next month. The other reason I'll be air layering this is thanks to the storms we had a month or so ago the branches received damage and the weight of the plums hasn't helped. I'm learning more about these trees so I know better how to take care of them in the future.

4 different flavors of homemade bacon. Each row is a different flavor. L-R. Brown sugar n salt - brown sugar, salt, pepper - brown sugar, salt, maple syrup - brown sugar, salt, apple juice. Multiple people tried these and we like them all, but the apple juice one didn't make the cut. The conclusion is less salt for sure. More pepper and more maple syrup. But I'm truly happy and do plan on trying other meats to smoke and other flavors of bacon to try.

This evening I did 2 firsts. First time using a smoker and first time making bacon. Tomorrow we will taste test all of these. I did 4 recipes to see which one we like best. I'm super proud of myself. Which ever flavors we like. I will be making more bacon out of the 4 slabs of pork belly we got from the pig we butchered when Darren was visiting.

Good things happening and steps moving forward for me. Had a Job interview today and it went really well. Hopefully by mid week I will have good news and I'll hear when I can start. Feeling positive about it all.

Gor my test pieces a future bacon and a ham hocks loving themselves with flavor in the fridge. In 1 week they will be smoked and we will see which ones we like best.

Found a place I can buy YACON PLANTS. Some time.over the next month I'm gonna get a couple plants. I'm really curious how it will do in a container here. I've done my research on it. Really wanna try it. It's also called Apple of the Earth or Earth Apple. If anyone grows this plant leave any trips tricks and experience you have down below. Please and Thank you.

As much as I dont like the idea that my City Girl Country Heart youtube channel got taken down. I'm ok with it. I'm looking at it as God is saying that chapter of your life is closed and you have new chapters starting. So I'm starting a new channel. It's my new chapter and we are gonna see where it takes us. I have some other things I'm gonna be working on. And when the time is right they will be shared. When I'm ready I will share the channel name on here and my channel. I've got this and God's got me. Yes eventually the name of this page will be changing to go with my YouTube channel or I may start a new page.

Called a local butcher earlier today. Asked about prices for grass fed and finished Beef and Pork. For Beef it's $4 a pound. Pork is $3 a pound. Those prices are for any cut meant. I'm gonna be calling a couple more places to see what their prices are. Actually from what I've seen those are good prices.

Tried something new for pizza. Chicken, Bacon, Ranch, Chipotle pizza. It came out really good. Just need to find mt pizza dough recipe that we really like.

Planted peas in a container today. The beans will go in a week or so depending on temps. Planted tomatoes, parsley and basil. The parsley and basil seeds are Amanda's. The kiddie pool is gonna get my walking onion plants. So far everything I put in pots hasn't died. Lol. I'm gonna start cucumber seeds next week. If I can find my zucchini seeds I'll plant them today too. Just giving this stuff a try. If nothing comes up I'll get plants. I would love to have zucchini starts of my own and have them planted out after next week. Yes they will do good this time of year. Forn3 years they did great for me. No bugs was a bonus. Planting some seeds is a plus for me today. I need this sanity right now.

This is a work in progress but this will be my 2024 garden. I'm happy and I'm gonna make it work. I have 6 barrels that I will be planting vegetable plants in. I can plant stuff with my blueberry plants and grape vines. And if I need more containers I will get smaller ones to use. I will have my garden and I'm extremely happy about it.

I'm looking for some good Audio books that I can listen to. Unfortunately my stress and emotions are like last year when I had surgery. I'm trying to change things for the better. What GOOD Audio books do yall suggest if you listen to them. Or podcasts. Doesn't matter what kind of books or podcasts. Any and all suggestions accepted and greatly appreciated. TIA.
