This is hands-down the best way to install new treads that won’t squeak and will stay solid for years. Using the DeWalt track saw, I add a 5° bevel to the back edge, creating a small crevice for glue — this eliminates direct wood-on-wood contact that causes squeaking over time. Finish it off with glue on all wood-to-wood surfaces, then tack it in place with a few finish nails while the adhesive cures. Rock solid. Quiet steps. Done right.
