The first book I read about abuse was by Gretchen Baskerville. It opened my eyes to other types of abuse that can happen in marriage. That's when I started digging around FB to find others to follow, and groups for support. For the longest time I denied and excused things. She opened my eyes to many, MANY things I would have never thought were abuse. YOU are not the property of a man after marriage. Even if you don't have religious beliefs (to each his own I say-more about that later)no one is "over" you. You don't deserve any emotional trauma, or any trauma.

Hi! I'm making this page not only for myself, but for other women to be able to voice your thoughts, opinions, laws, rights, anything that we can empower each other and help each other. I'll be posting inspirational thoughts and occasionally getting my 2 cents out there on my thoughts of patriarchy and the church/religions. I don't care what kind of spirituality you follow, and if I post something religious, please ignore the posts.

Patriarchy-Many religions (and some men) believe that the man rules the house, the finances, and some control what you wear, where you go, who you're with, what you spend, OR you have no access to the money in the marriage. Mental abuse, Financial abuse, emotional abuse, verbal abuse, coercive control. We need more laws in America to protect women from this! It makes me so angry that I hear so much on the news about Spousal abuse (yes, it can go both ways), and they usually end up dead. It's terrifying. We have got to do something about this!!

I'll admit it, I never saw the signs because I wasn't paying attention to them. And once you start reading and digging into further in to the rabbit hole, you can learn the signs, and see the signs. Maybe its not you, maybe its a friend, it's hard to find a way to help someone with a difficult spouse. The covert-spouse will try any and every way to isolate them/you.

This is not a "male bashing" page, but more of learning about how to handle the situation you or someone may be in. Although, I may sneek a few funnies in here.
I'm not a professional-but I follow plenty and they have opened my eyes to learn and understand. You may seem some posts in here from Men I follow, so no, I don't hate men. Loathe them? Maybe😊
