Départ de trois classes ce dimanche. Les IMOCA neutralisés au Havre. La situation a nettement empiré sur le proche Atlantique toute la soirée et cette nuit.
La forte dépression qui avait justifié hier la modification du parcours des Class40 vers Lorient, déboule sur l’Atlantique avec 24 heures d’avance sur le timing initialement prévu. Elle charrie des vents de 80 noeuds et une mer de 10 mètres dès lundi soir au cap Finisterre.
Seuls les ULTIM qui auront suffisamment progressé vers le Sud, peuvent échapper au phénomène. Leur départ et leur parcours sont maintenus.
Les Ocean Fifty prendront eux aussi le départ aujourd’hui mais se dirigeront comme les Class40 vers Lorient.
Aucune solution pour amarrer les 40 IMOCA dans un port de la façade Atlantique n’ayant été trouvée pour l’instant, les monocoques resteront au Havre en attendant qu’une nouvelle opportunité météorologique ou d’accueil se présente.

A prudent decision
Doubt was allowed in the last days but the departure of the fifteenth edition of the Transat Jacques Vabre will be given on Sunday, October 29.
The four series (Class 40, IMOCA, Ocean 50 and ULTIM) will start on successive departures. Class 40 will close the ball at exactly 1:41 pm.
However, for them and only, the Racing Authority has planned a mandatory stopover at Lorient in time to let the powerful depression that sets in this week's Gulf of Gas pass. The most optimistic weather files indeed predict winds of more than fifty knots and holes of 8 meters off Cape Finisterre. Conditions worthy of a Divine Comedy whose narrative would end in purgatory.
If the other faster classes should have time to pass, this scenario was completely unthinkable for the 40 foot series.
To this day, the racers do not yet know when the second departure from Lorient will be given nor what the route to rally Martinique will be, since it will be reduced so that the arrival of the boats in Fort-de-France is not too late.
As for the first part in Manche, Renaud specified this morning: "The conditions will already be very muscular." Winds of 25 to 35 knots and gusts to 45 knots are expected (perhaps a little less, the weather files for the last few hours tended to be slightly lower), in a very windy look and especially "shipwreckers". These boats are designed for a Transat overall so rather for carrying pipes. Here we'll find ourselves, slow down and face the wave. We are going to be careful and try not to break anything but the equipment will be very tested on this start of the race.
In these strong winds, the Class 40 should be able to reach the port of Lorient to Base quickly.

Transat Jacques Vabre. Trzydzieści lat wielkiej żeglarskiej imprezy - Route du Cafe!
Trzydziesty, jubileuszowy Transat Jacques Vabre Normandy Le Havre 2023 rozgrywany będzie w czterech klasach - Class 40s, Ocean Fifty, IMOCA i ULTIM 32/23. W wyścigu będzie rywalizować 95 załóg dwuosobowych, na które oczekują już w Le Havre od piątku 20 października, kiedy to nastąpiło otwarcie wioski regatowej. W niedzielę 29 października nastąpi start, a każda z czterech zgłoszonych klas będzie miała inną trasę i inny czas rozpoczęcia (co dwanaście minut od 13:05 do 13:41). Na trasę z Havru na Martynikę i do zatoki Fort-de-France, wypłynie 190 żeglarzy, na 95 jachtach, 17 narodowości, a wśród nich 77 debiutantów…
Żeglarze, którzy zwyciężyli dwa lata temu, powracają i ponownie stają do rywalizacji. Min. Charles Caudrelier z Erwanem Israelem na trimaranie klasy ULTIM Edmond de Rothschild. Sébastien Rogues, teraz z Jean-Baptiste Gellée na trimaranie klasy Ocean Fifty Primonial, Thomas Ruyant i Morgan Lagravière na IMOCA For People, a także Antoine Carpentier i Ian Lipiński w Class 40 Crédit Mutuel, walczyć będą w obronie tytułów zdobytych w 2021 roku. We flocie znajdują się nowicjusze, a także wielokrotni zwycięzcy tego transatlantyckiego wyścigu. Franck Cammas, który wygrał czterokrotnie w grupie jachtów wielokadłubowych, może zostać pierwszym żeglarzem, który pięciokrotnie zwyciężył na trasie Route du Cafe. Tym razem po raz pierwszy próbuje szczęścia w IMOCA z Jérémie Beyou na jachcie CHARAL. Tuż za Cammasem plasują się trzykrotni zwycięzcy Erwan Le Roux, Yann Eliès, Charles Caudrelier i Antoine Carpentier.
Wyścig Transat Jaques Vabre, zwany wyścigiem „kawowym” – Route du Cafe, organizowany jest co dwa lata. Pierwszy wystartował w 1993 roku, a trasa wiodła z Hawru do Cartageny w Kolumbii. Na starcie stanęło tylko 13 jachtów. W grupie jednokadłubowców najszybszy był Yves Parlier na „Cacolac d'Aquitaine”, a wśród wielokadłubowców najlepiej żeglował Paul Vatine na trimaranie „Région Haute-Normandie”. W tym roku obchodzimy 30-lecie wielkiej żeglarskiej imprezy, która jest jednym z najbardziej prestiżowych wyścigów oceanicznych na świecie. Będzie to także kolejny arcyważny sprawdzian jachtów i sterników, przed przyszłorocznym Vendee Globe 2024/25, wyścigiem samotnych żeglarzy non-stop dookoła świata. W VG wystartuje flota 40 jachtów! Większość z nich pojawi się na starcie tegorocznego TJV. Faworyci Charlie Dalin - MACIF(odwołał swój udział z powodu choroby) i Thomas Ruyant - FOR PEOPLE, popłyną na swoich nowych jachtach zwodowanych w 2023 roku! Sebastien Simon, Paul Meilhat - Biotherm i Boris Hermman – Team Malizia, przygotowują się intensywnie, po wyczerpującym udziale w regatach The Ocean Race. Zapowiada się jubileuszowa, arcyciekawa impreza regatowa…
W 2021 roku 15. edycja wyścigu Transat Jaques Vabre, wystartowała z Hawru 7 listopada. Rywalizowało 79 jachtów (5 Ultimes, 7 Ocean50, 22 IMOCA i 45 Class40) i 158 żeglarzy. Trasa prowadziła na metę na Martynice, ale była inna dla każdej ze startujących grup jachtów. Najdłuższą, długości 7500 mil (długość teoretyczna) miały do pokonania trimarany ULTIM. Zanim dotarły na Martynikę, musiały popłynąć daleko na południe poniżej 20st. szerokości geograficznej południowej i opłynąć archipelag Trinidade, przy wschodnim wybrzeżu Brazylii. Jachty klasy IMOCA i trimarany Ocean50 pokonywały dystans 5800 mil i musiały opłynąć archipelag Fernando de Noronha. Trasa dla łódek Class40 miała 4600 mil, a flota miała obowiązek opłynięcia Wysp Zielonego Przylądka. W stawce wyścigu nie było załogi z Polski, ale warto pamiętać udany występ Zbyszka „Gutka” Gutkowskiego Zbigniew Gutkowski i Maćka „Świstaka” Marczewskiego Maciej Marczewski na jachcie klasy IMOCA - ENERGA w 2013 roku. Wówczas trasa wyścigu prowadziła z Hawru do brazylijskiego Itajai.
Wśród 20 jachtów klasy IMOCA pierwszy na metę przypłynął LINKED OUT Thomas Ruyant / Morgan Lagravière. Ich czas to 18 dni 1 godzina 21 minut i 10 sekund. Ruyant, był jednym z bohaterów ostatniej edycji Vendee Globe. Tym razem odniósł prestiżowe zwycięstwo w wyścigu transatlantyckim. Jak przyznał przed startem, traktował tę rywalizację jako kolejny bardzo ważny sprawdzian przed następną edycją regat dookoła świata VG w 2024 roku. Druga w stawce była APIVIA Charlie Dalin / Paul Meilhat, a ich czas to 18 dni 21 godzin 33 minuty i 31 sekund. Dalin i jego APIVIA, to zwycięzcy regat TJV z 2019 roku i najszybszy zawodnik ostatniego Vendee Globe, który ukończył w czasie 80 dni.
W grupie pięciu trimaranów ULITIME wygrali faworyci! Prowadzący przez większość dystansu "Maxi Edmond de Rothschild" skiperzy Franck Cammas i Charles Caudrelier, pokonali trasę wyścigu w czasie 16 dni 1 godzina 49 minut i 16 sekund. Obaj skiperzy, zwycięzcy regat Volvo Ocean Race, teraz do listy swoich sukcesów dopisali prestiżową wygraną w wyścigu transatlantyckim. Na tym trimaranie zwodowanym w 2017 roku, mają już na swoim koncie zwycięstwo w słynnym klasyku Rolex Fastnet Race. Drugi z stratą 8 godzin był "SVR-Lazartigue" François Gabart i Tom Laperche, a trzeci, po 9 godzinach za zwycięzcą, był "Banque Populaire XI" Armel Le Cléac’h i Kevin Escoffier.
W grupie siedmiu trimaranów Ocean50, pierwszy na metę przypłynął PRIMONIAL Sébastien Rogues i Matthieu Souben. Trasę z Hawru na Martynikę wokół archipelagu Fernando de Norohna pokonali w czasie 15 dni 13 godzin 27 minut i 14 sekund. Wyprzedzili KOESIO Erwan Le Roux i Xavier Macaire – 15 dni 15 godzin 55 minut i 12 sekund. Trzeci dopłynął LEYTON Sam Goodchild i Aymeric Chappellier 15 dni 17 godzin 15 minut i 43 sekundy.
