Hey Facebook! These last few months I've been working on a big, two volume music comic book anthology featuring creators from around the world!

The books will be available from me and many of the other artists/writers at shows, but if you'd like to pre-order a copy (or a set) it will only be available online until August 31! Pre-ordering helps to dictate the print run AND helps the contributors get paid. Please give this a share and/or place your order before it's too late!

When I started J&E as an online zine in 2016, I had about 8,000 visitors in the first year. Decent enough to keep going. It declined to 5,500 in 2017, then 3,200 in 2018 when I shut 'er down. It fell to a few hundred in 2019, then in 2020/21 we had 2,000ish each year, then 3,700 last year and already 1,000 in 2024.

What caused people to visit a website I haven't updated for five years?

Scott Pilgrim became even more popular.

I interviewed Lynette Gillis of Plumtree when the band reissued its album trilogy, and they have a song called "Scott Pilgrim".

I'm glad people are visiting this site still, I put a lot of work into it.

Hey! So we used to be a website and radio show about '90s Canadian music. Then we went quiet. But there was always a project that needed to come out. So, for the 25th anniversary of the one and only record from Transistor Sound & Lighting Co, we are releasing a TRIBUTE featuring some amazing local bands! I won't release the track list JUST YET because I'm still waiting on four songs, but I did want to share the cover art with you all.

Hi. Been a while. How are you? Ever wonder where the name "Jaded and Elated" came from? It's a Transistor Sound & Lighting co. song. Who dat? An incredible Winnipeg indie rock act who released one record in 1998 and then VANISHED (well, got lost in a label shuffle, maybe, and broke up). We are coming out of retirement to partner with Inservice Records on a track-by-track recreation in honour of the record's 25th anniversary, and if you're a musician who wants in on it, email [email protected] for more info!
