Epidote Press Based in northern California's Point Reyes Peninsula. Art and writing concerned with folklore, landscape, and the poetics of place.

Epidote Press is an independent publishing imprint based in Northern California’s Point Reyes Peninsula. We are devoted to publishing historical texts, as well as contemporary music, art, and writing concerned with landscape and the poetics of place. Founded by Kirston Lightowler, the press is informed by her interest in landscape, natural and environmental history, reading and the art of research

, folklore, and translation. We are particularly interested in publishing work that exists at the intersection of art, literature, and science – finding associations and connections across branches of knowledge and fields of meaning. The press issues books, pamphlets, and editions with an emphasis on using archival and sustainable materials, as well as the forms of letterpress and photography. Drawing from our background as archivists, curators, and collectors, we aspire to be thorough researchers, careful readers, and kind collaborators.
