"I'm surprised no one has done a series like The Seams before." -- Valerie Steele, Ph.D., executive director, Museum at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology)

The Seams is a biweekly podcast and an occasional, independent series found on-air at NPR and online. We explore clothing for the common thread that connects human experience past and present, and in every stitch we find a story, from a Bedo

uin bride’s wedding jacket to Trayvon Martin’s hoodie. The Seams is the brainchild of Jacki Lyden, a longtime former NPR host and correspondent. The team includes editor Marcus Rosenbaum, another NPR veteran with decades of experience; two-time Peabody award-winning editor Deborah George; writer-historian Christina Bevilacqua, public- engagement director for the Providence Athenaeum; and producer and social-media manager Elaine Heinzman.
